Promoting the industry development of Biomass Solid Densified Fuel(BSDF)is an effective way to increase the use of renewable energy,realize clean heating in north China,control air pollutions and use wasted straw resources as energy.However,the industry development of BSDF in China is still facing several issues,including the lack of scientific understanding of its environmental performance,the lack of a successful business model and the lag behand system of industrial organization and management,and it results a slow progress of the industry development.Therefore,it is urgent to carry on systematic scientific research combining theories and practices on these key issues.Based on the basic theory and methodology of system engineering,this thesis established a comprehensive analysis method to analyze key issues of the development of BSDF industry,in order to provide system approach to scientifically understand and research those key issues.It includes a set of models including the energy,environmental,and economic(3E)analysis of BSDF,the commercial model analysis of biomass energy,the system analysis of industrial organization and management.In the 3E analysis of BSDF,it is established a life cycle assessment(LCA)model of fossil energy consumption,greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions and air pollutants of BSDF and BSDF heating,and a techno-economic model of regional heating systems of BSDF of corn straws.The LCA boundary is extended to the cultivation of biomass raw materials,and a lot of calculation is carried out based on practical cases.The results indicate that BSDF has good performance of energy,environment and economy,with the fossil energy consumption and GHG emissions reduced by more than 90% comparing to coal,and the emissions of air pollutants be ing close to the level of natural gas.Moreover,to build urban-rural regional heating system based on BSDF can bring extra economic benefits for a region by the expected profit,taxes and labor incomes.Based on an empirical analysis,it is developed a business model analysis method with a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis based on techno-economic evaluation.The method is used to describe the process of organization creation and value transformation involved by a business model of biomass energy,and to derive implications for the business model of BSDF.From the perspective of systematics,it is constructed a system analysis framework of the industrial organization and management system of BSDF,which is used to identify the policy barr iers of the industry development and to study the policy mechanism to promote a rapid development of the BSDF industry.The main contributions of this thesis are a set of systematic and comprehensive analysis method,three kinds of models and a lot of scie ntific data based on case studies,which can help understanding and researching key issues of the industry development of BSDF,including the 3E performance,commercial model and policy mechanism.Moreover,these methods and models can also provide new ideas and methodologies to research the industry development of other energy technologies.
