This thesis concerns the "African Aesthetics as the basis of the art of painting in D.R Congo".That means the African aesthetic is considered as the basic foundation for the Congolese painting. The main issue on this topic is to put in the hands of the Congolese painter the knowledge of essential concepts and rules to realize outstanding and authentic artworks:the art works with the Congolese cultural identity. We put our attention on African sculpture as archetypal model in the visual arts by considering its historical, cultural and religious(philosophical)values. We briefly answered the major question which is:why the African Aesthetics was and should be considered as the foundation of the Congolese painting.Mainly because of its fundamental values. The historical, cultural and religious values seen through African sculpture are the mark of the human civilization in the entire surface of Africa(we meaningfully make this approach in the largest country of Central Africa which is D.R Congo).Although the African sculpture is considered as primitive and archaic in eyes of the West,it clearly reflects:the organization and commitment to the supreme cause in communities, the cultural values within the lifestyle and the culture of people.African sculpture as an expression of African art bears all these values and they are not dissociated in it,including religion. Therefore, based on the African sculpture one cannot speak of African culture by ignoring that in African art there are aesthetics rules and laws. Our main concern is to bring back the authenticity of the Congolese painting and its aesthetic values which cannot be no more seen through the new generation's paintings.Since our intellectual object is defined as an educational perspective, the African sculpture in the African traditional art is taken as a model carrying archetypal elements of composition with double value:historical and cultural(religious, artistic). In this, our approach is to analyze those archetypal models in order to establish a written theory of an African aesthetics that will be useful in the teaching of visual art in one hand and painting in the other. To achieve this goal we recommend the adaptation of cultural policy which from this angle will have mission to promote arts and cultural education. In this regard, our arguments on African aesthetics as the basis of the Congolese painting are based on historical data and the reflections of philosophers, writers and researchers from Africa who have written about the art of this continent.
