Kant's Theory Of "natural Beauty"

This paper is based on Kant’s philosophy and aesthetics system,and tries to discuss its“nature beauty”issue. Why I choose such a thesis,there are two main reasons as follows: firstly，almost no monographs forKant’s “nature beauty” issue among the voluminous writings on Kant.The main reason for this is that Kant’s aesthetics is always regarded as aby-product of his philosophy. So more attention was paid to hisphilosophy than his aesthetics by both Chinese and foreign scholars,and not mention the “nature beauty” issue. Although the field ofaesthetics has already acknowledged that Kant’s aesthetics is thefoundation of the modern aesthetic theory and his great influence forthe “nature beauty”, but no insightful investigation has been made inthe relevant topic. Secondly, the dispute about the relationshipbetween human and nature never been interrupted since we becameas a conscious being: from the original nature worship，to a rationalattempt to escape from nature； and then a conscious desire forreturning to nature——As a special creature of nature, what can bedone by human beings to determine their position and be union withnature? This problem has always been accompanied with humandevelopment and confused us a lot. Therefore, the study on “Kant’stheory of nature beauty” will has both its theoretical value andpractical value.This paper is divided into four parts:“Introduction” makes a detaileddescription about the subject option, the research situation in domesticand foreign, the purposes, meaning, objectives, content and problemsto be solved on this thesis.“Chapter one” explores the anthropologyvision of Kant’s philosophy and aesthetics system which was set up byhis three Critiques:《Critique of Pure Reason》provides a starting point for man as man;《Critique of Practical Reason》portrays a end point forman as man;《Critique of Judgment》 is a bridge between start andend points. And it is easy to realize that “nature beauty” issue plays animportant role in it. So “Kant’s theory of nature beauty” comes into ourview not independently as an aesthetic problem, but also as ananthropological problem about human’s fate and developmentprocess. It has become the core throughout the three Critiques. For thefocus of paper, I put the specific analysis of the issue related “the firstcritique” and “the third critique” in appendix, it is available forreference.“Chapter Two” focuses on theoretical analysis on Kants"Nature beauty", including: analysis on two “nature” concept in Kant’sphilosophy and aesthetics system; interpretation of two “naturebeauty” corresponding to the two “nature” concept, anddetermination the stage of the two “nature beauty” during humandevelopment process. All of these just try to reveal the theoreticalpossibility for human to grow a perfect one by the way of Naturalaesthetic. This is the height of “Nature beauty” provided by Kant, itreflects the theory value of this paper.“Chapter Three” makes acomment about the modern impact of “Kant’s theory of naturebeauty”, and combines the existence demands of modern human toexplain the contemporary value of “Kant’s theory of naturebeauty”——indicating the direction for the people who is hovering at aloss: Kant can lead human to “moral self-discipline” state, when peoplecan be get rid of the detention of “law by others” and the arrogance of“law it”. What means human will realize and enjoy the freedom. Thepractical value is just the paper wished to achieve.These are the main contents of this paper，and it is clear for itsintention. All I wish I can do is that this paper can give a detailtheoretical analysis about “Kant’s theory of nature beauty” as accurateas possible, and also be helpful to people present in the practical guide.
