The Study Of Liu Mengyin's Chinese Poems And Their Connection With Tang Poetry

This thesis mainly studies the Chinese poetry of Liu Mengyin,a poet in the middle of the Chosen Dynasty;it combines the theory of Chinese poetry criticism and critical practice to deliver an integrated and multi-dimension analysis of his poems.Liu Mengyin' s poems are mainly collected in his anthology Wu Yu Ji,which contains 899 Chinese poems and 248 essays;well his Chinese poetry criticism are mainly collected in his critical anthology Wu Yu Ye Tan,in which he expresses his poetical theory,unique understanding of Chinese and Chosen poets and poems,as well as the connection between Chinese and Chosen poems and poetic theories through his multi-critique of Chinese and Chosen poets and their poems.Liu Mengyin made three missions to China during his official duties and was well known as“Chinese Expert”.Although his poems didn' t get as much attention as Xu Yun,Xu Juzheng and Jin Shixi etc those famous scholars in the equivalent period,his Chinese poetry and prose still has occupied a place in the history of Chosen Dynasty literature.Therefore,it is of crucial significance to study about Liu Menyin' s poems to grasp the history of ancient Chosen Chinese study and the connection between ancient Chosen Chinese literature and traditional Chinese literature.The analyses of Liu Mengyin' s poems in this thesis are threefold.Firstly,from the perspective of social-historical criticism,it reveals the influence of Liu' s special living era and unique growing environment to his creation of Chinese poems.Secondly,in the aspect of phenomenology,with the help of language criticism,symbol criticism and implication criticism,it digs into Liu' s textual sphere to reveal his Chinese poems' literariness and their artistic value and aesthetical significance.Thirdly,this thesis employs the technique of influence study to explore Liu' s imitation of poetry of Tang Dynasty;meanwhile,via Liu' s critique of poetry of Tang Dynasty,this thesis traces the influence of traditional Chinese literature to Liu' s Chinese poetry creation.In addition,this paper integrates the above analyses and combines the critiques to Liu Mengyin from his contemporary and other scholars to uncover his status in Chosen ancient Chinese literature study and the significance of his works.Besides,these analyses also reveal the international impact and significance of ancient Chinese poetry from the perspective of“other”.The communication between ancient Chosen peninsula and China in the aspect of literature and culture expressed in the study of Liu' s poems provides historical facts to current cross-cultural exchange between Korean Peninsula and China.The purposes of this paper are as following.From the concrete of objective existence,historical and dialectical aesthetic consideration is made on Liu Mengyin's Chinese poems,and the historical value,realistic enlightenment and academic significance of Liu' s Chinese poems are deeply excavated.It also reveals its internal relation with Chinese traditional poetry and then shows the current spread situation of ancient Chinese poetry.What' s more,Liu' s Chinese poetry is closely related to the tradition of Chinese poetry,but his acceptance of Chinese poetry,especially Tang poetry,is not a simple imitation.Instead,Liu's acceptance of Chinese poetics obviously has the characteristics of"intersubjectivity".Thus,in the process of interpretation,this paper first regards Liu Mengyin' s Han poetry as an objective phenomenon in ancient Chosen Dynasty literature,and then emphasizes on its phenomenological interpretation.Although it is impossible to transcend its kinship with Chinese poetics in the process of interpretation,it is not simple and superficial to compare the advantages and disadvantages with Chinese poetics,which is better,which is strong and which is weak.The purpose of this paper is to show that the two are related in the diachronic culture,and to appreciate the profound cultural feelings accumulated in the specific historical time and space,and to cause a profound reflection on the present national relations and the state-to-state relations.The contents of this thesis consists are as followings.The first part is the introduction of research object and research value;the related researches in domestic and abroad,the purpose,significance and methods in the thesis.The second part illustrates the historical and cultural background of Liu Mengyin' s Han poetry creation,the social background of the Chosen Dynasty,the living environment and ideological form of Liu Mengyin,and the influence of the Chinese ideological trend on the literary ideological trend of the Chosen Dynasty.The third part explores the ideological connotation of Liu' s Chinese poetry creation,including the historical rationality of Liu's Chinese poetry,the humanistic concern and the life ideal of Liu' s Chinese poetry.The fourth part mainly clarifies aesthetic tension of his poetry,including forms and rhythm,the imagery implication of Liu' s Chinese poems and his unique "aesthetic conception".The fifth part analyzes the relationship between Liu's Chinese poetry and Tang Dynasty poetics,Liu's Chinese poetry and Chinese traditional poetics,Liu's Chinese poetry and Tang poetry,and the Tang Dynasty poetics' influence on Liu's Chinese poetry.The sixth part is the conclusion,summing up the research results and research value of Liu Mengyin's Chinese poetry.The innovation of this paper lies in the comparative study of Liu Mengyin' s Chinese poems and the poems of Chinese poets,which have the influence on Liu Mengyin' s Chinese poetry,based on the Noumenon study of Liu's Chinese poetry and the way of "concurrent discussion".This is a relatively novel research method of overseas Chinese poetry.Through the way of "concurrent discussion",the paper is supposed to more macroscopic and more comprehensive to explore the various relations between Liu Mengyin's Chinese poems and Tang poetry and even Chinese culture.
