Research On Yihwani's Trend Of Thought Of "Complying With Confucianism And Reforming Customs" In Modern China

Modern Chinese al-Ikhwan is a religious movement,whose aim is to get rid of bad rules which are against to al-Qur'an and Hadith and to follow the real way of Islam.The mainstream of modern Chinese Islam is reforming and reviving.Reformers,who are proposing al-Ikhwan,turn to patriotism and love of the religion,and are no more attached only to their religious reforms within Muslim society,and it is a epitome of successful transformation.Taking history as a mirror and studying al-Ikhwan,which guides the contemporary Chinese Islamic thoughts,we know Islam came to China in the Tang and Song dynasties and developed under the influence of Chinese culture,so it became a religion with Chinese character,but it cannot also be separated from the influence of world Islamic thoughts.In this paper,we use the religious studies and ideological history to the investigate and analyze Modem Chinese al-Ikhwan,including its historical background,origin of thoughts,main characters and its main thoughts,whose spreading and its development.It is also a qualitative study of modern Chinese al-Ikhwan.Nowadays,the reform of al-Ikhwan is mainly centered on the religious rites and customs.They all follow the traditional Sunni and al-Hanafiyyah,so there is no real difference between the new and the old sects.They pay attention to the study of doctrine,teaching methods,and solving practical problems.They also put great attention to the reformation of mosque education and the integration of education into modern education,which has cultivated many Imams who have studied Islamic culture deeply and are engaged in religious activities.From the way of al-Ikhwan's spreading and developing,we can summarize that the minds of reformers are far more beyond restricted on one kind of thought.They put more attention to the relationship between their ways of preaching and the reality of Islam in China.Taking traditional way of giving lectures as a principal method,they have many way of preaching.For example,by newspaper,face to face discussing,or placard,etc.The ideological journey of al-Ikhwan,"as it were",has changed with the development of the time.At the beginning,it was mainly concerned with the reform of religion,then changed into the idea of "saving the country by religious".Religious reformers,now with a global vision on the nation's belief's,point out the national fate is linked with religion,and put forward ideas like "the countries first,the religions latter","only if the country can exist,the religious might exist",and so on.Calling on Muslims to eliminate national barriers and actively participate in the protection of their homeland,they have reached a very high ideological level.Objectively,this reform has changed the direction of al-Ikhwan,and has improved the Muslims in China to concern more about national political affairs,awaken the connecting of self-identity with the love of their country and their nation.All of those changes show the age and the progress of the reform.They have their general features and with their different characters of regions at the same time.The al-Ikhwan thought in modern China has a positive influence and embodies in many aspects.Although with sectarian strife in its way of development,it has roused patriotism awareness of ordinary Muslim and promoted the development of Islamic culture,and formed the sectarian pattern of contemporary Chinese Islam.All in all,the modern Chinese al-Ikhwan thought was influenced by the world Islamic thought,but it has a brand of Chinese society,which shows the characteristics of Islam in China.With the transformation of the society,reform ideological trend also has changed dramatically.From obeying the rules of Islam to love their country and religion,it fully embodies the progress of the social development of the "Big Change",which also shows that the changing of the Islamic thought plays a positive role in the transformation of Chinese society.
