modified the historical development of Chinese contemporary literature.Regional anti-Japan literary periodicals,located in different areas,with their own Ideological characteristics,unique cultural features and distinctive regional style,specifically and vividly displayed the history of literature style and personality.Their regionalism of the storage of literary information,continuity and centrality have concretely demonstrated the historical features and spiritual character of the Anti-Japan War literature,and have profoundly influenced upon the writing and construction of the history of Chinese literature in the twentieth Century.The Yellow River,a large literary and artistic monthly magazine located on the northwest and faced the whole country,was one of the representatives.As a literary journal born in northwest area in the KMT-controlled areas,relied on Xie Bingying and her successors' presiding and persevering,The Yellow River was of a unique way of existence,recording the war in the truthful and artistic way,and making outstanding contributions to the development of the Anti-Japan literature.The research of The Yellow River is not only a historical-restoration of the true features of the Anti-Japan War literature in the northwest,but also a way to get access to the complexity and potential value of the Anti-Japan War literature,to expand the vision of modern literature study,and more importantly to present and analyze the formation mechanism of Literary Periodicals under the background of war.In my opinion,if we want to treat The Yellow River as a case study,we should pay special attention to the external environment and internal operating mechanism.From the macro level,take a comprehensive and systematic review of the literary and ecological environment of the birth and survival of the Yellow River;from the middle layer,take an in-depth and specific analysis of the editing and publishing mechanism of the journal;and from the micro level,take a detailed and objective interpretation of all literary texts published in the journal,so that the main text structure of this paper can be constructed.This paper takes The Yellow River published in Xi'an during the Anti-Japan War as the research object,reveals its basic style in the northwest of the KMT-controlled area of the war landscape,and analyses the social and historical causes of the various literary works.By considering special ecological literature environment and the unique political-cultural space in the wartime,the paper,in great detail,combs the development course of The Yellow River,which was one of representatives of Xi'an literature in The Republic of China,and examines 40's landscape in the northwest from a more dimensional,objective and realistic perspective(including literary creation,literary movement and literary debates)as well as the landscape behind the social and historical reasons of the times and the mental psychology of the people of the times,in order to broaden the literature research space of Anti-Japan literature in some new angles and positions,to fill the historical details of the occurrence and development,and finally,to find the unique charm of "local imagination" in the literature during the Anti-Japanese War period.Specifically,the paper aims to study the occurrence and development of The Yellow River and the contexts,stages,details of the background of Xi'an Anti-Japan War literature from the external environment like politics,military and culture,based on which,the paper studies The Yellow River's development stages,unique style and the art of editing from its start,shut-down,reopening till the final issue.The research also includes the establishment and change of cultural identity,cultural character of the publication's special literature ecological environment and the political culture of space in the wartime.At the same time,the paper analyzes the Anti-Japan War literature published by The Yellow River,and focuses on the aesthetic character of the novels illuminated by aesthetic character of realism,the Anti-Japan poetry in accordance with the pulse of the National Liberation War,and the Anti-Japan dramas with multi style and diversified development.In addition,based on the analysis of many historical facts,the paper restores the complex relationship between Xie Bingying and The Yellow River and the real reasons of the publication of the journal,and researches the relation between Xie Bingying's editing strategies,ideas,"self-proof' editing behavior and the value orientation of The Yellow River,thus revealing Xie Bingying's complex mentality and reality dilemma when she was the chief editor of The Yellow River,finally discovering and exploring the literal professionals' identification and alienation regarding the Anti-Japan literature in KMT-controlled area in the war background.
