Reseach On Western Cultural Infiltration In The Era Of Globalization

With human society entering the era of globalization,the position and role of culture in international competition is keeping cropping up.The cultural field has become a battlefield for various political and ideological to confront each other.Western developed countries with the represent of the United States depend on strong economic strength and advanced information media technology to promote cultural hegemony and cultural expansion through various cultural infiltration channels,which opening up a cultural war without fire,and seriously threatening the cultural development and cultural security of other countries.These are all major issues that need to be considered and resolved.How to accurately grasp the basic connotation and logic of cultural infiltration in the era of globalization,and correctly understand the essence and characteristics of the infiltration of Western culture,what kind of strategy should China choose to deal with etc.with the strong invasion of Western culture.This paper is guided by Marx's theory of communication,and used multidisciplinary theories and methods comprehensively such as philosophy,political science,communication studies,sociology,and international relations,and surrounded three basic questions---"What is cultural infiltration","How to understand the nature and characteristics of Western cultural penetration in the era of globalization" and "How to deal with the penetration of Western culture" to research.The paper's principal part is divided into three parts:The first part is the theoretical interpretation(Chapters 2 and 3).The connotation of cultural infiltration is more clearly defined by grasping the basic connotation of cultural infiltration and discriminating with the concepts of cultural exchange and cultural aggression.Marx's theory of communication is the theoretical basis for us to explore cultural infiltration.Marx's historical characteristics of communication are guiding theory to understand globalization.Marx's critique of Western imperialism on colonial cultural colonization,including the roots,contents,methods,and fundamental ways of eliminating cultural colonization pointed out the direction for us to research the logic,content,essential purpose and response of Western cultural infiltration.This paper uses Marx's theory of communication and draws on contemporary Western cultural imperialism to study of the logic of cultural penetration in-depth.the era of globalization is characterized by time and space compression,network information,the development of cultural economy and public culture,which has a profound impact on cultural relations.In this macro-cultural field,various cultural forces compete with each other,and cultural contradictions are prominent,especially the conflicts and struggles of cultural universalism and cultural specialism,powerful culture and weak culture,globalism and nationalism and elite culture and public culture.Western culture depends on economic and technological advantages,cultural potential difference advantages,and media advantages to promote cultural infiltration strategies in the world to achieve cultural hegemony.Cultural infiltration reflects the power struggle of world cultural leadership in the context of globalization and the interest's struggle of the world cultural market.The second part is the theoretical argumentation(Chapter 4,5 and 6).To explore the basic types,main contents,multiple ways and main features of Western culture infiltration in the era of globalization by using summary summaries,and studying case.The paper argues that the basic types of Western cultural infiltration mainly include the cultural infiltration of Western capitalism into socialist countries,the cultural infiltration of Western developed countries into developing countries,and the cultural infiltration of American developed countries into Western countries.Different types of cultural infiltration are for different countries and regions.There are also some differences in the measures that was taken during the infiltration process.Regardless of the type of cultural infiltration,its infiltration content includes that the surface material culture is a carrier of the model of daily life,consumer products,and ideology,and middle-level institutional culture is dominated by Western democratic system,electoral system and human rights system,and deep culture is represented by values such as individualism,liberalism,and consumerism.It is a step-by-step process which the infiltration from material culture to institutional culture,and then to values.In order to complete the political and economic invasion,the way of cultural infiltration has cast a veil of warmth which is extremely concealed.The more typical ways are economic expansion approach,network information technology communication approach,elite agent approach and religious infiltration approach.On this basis,the paper concludes that the Western culture infiltration has presented new features in terms of strategy,approach,content,and expression in the era of globalization.For example,the main positions of Western culture infiltration have gradually shifted from official infiltration to more attention on civil infiltration.The ways of cultural infiltration have shifted from dominant infiltration to more atention on implicit infiltration.The form of cultural infiltration has shifted from purely cultural output to the combination of output and support.In the process of cultural infiltration,it follows the law of potential difference that is the infiltration from high potential energy culture to low potential energy culture,the law of structure that is the infiltration from surface culture to deep culture,and the law of space that is the infiltration from marginal culture to central culture in the way of “encircling the cities through rural areas”The third part is theoretical application(Chapter 7).Exploring the severe challenges brought to China by the Western culture infiltration in the era of globalization on the basis of the aforementioned research,and then,using Marx's theory of cultural communication and the logical law of cultural infiltration,combining with the new characteristics of contemporary Western cultural infiltration to put forward the targeted strategic.The paper argues that the Western culture infiltration has brought severe challenges and impact to China's ideological security,cultural security,information security and network public opinion security.In order to avoid the potential harm caused by these challenges,the paper puts forward the basic strategies to resist the Western culture infiltration from cultural self-improvement(soft prevention),cultural control(hard prevention),cultural guidance(internal guidance)and Cultural exchange(building an orderly community of civilization for mankind to the external world).
