The aim of this thesis is to allow the Chinese Musical Academy to recognize the anti-colonial musical positions developed in Latin American countries. It also seeks the presentation of multiple Latin American thinkers and musicologists who are unknown by the Chinese academic musical community. The central goal is the generation of consciousness by the Chinese community towards the processes that are showing tendencies of musical coloniality in the contemporary academic musical practices of the Chinese region. This objective is based on the reflections that have emerged to the author in the face of Chinese musical work, and what she considers as a danger in the development of coloniality. This is further proven in the experience of a foreign student at the Conservatory of Music of Shanghai. At the beginning of the development of this thesis there was the idea of focusing on a smaller Latin American region. However, the many questions that arose led her to choose a more general study of the Latin American situation. For this thesis in general, the understanding of the Latin American situation is based on the positions of the Uruguayan composer and musicologist Coriun Aharonian and also of the Argentine composer and musicologist Graciela Paraskevaidis. As a secondary objective it is a personal desire to know firsthand the understanding of some of the teachers in the area of Chinese composition in terms of specific topics that are decisive in driving the present and the future Chinese musical academic towards Colonial positions or not.But it is not focusing on historical details of the country or the particularities that China,as the most populous country in the world, represents in the aforementioned issues.
