Diego Velazquez is a unique Baroque painter in the 17th century, but his painting and understanding of light are so close to modern ones which made him a unique presence inthe time.No words about his art have ever been handed down in Velazquez. His reality, his silence, his neutrality, his objectivity, and his reserve, all make him an enigmaticfigure. We can only speculate on his artistic intentions and pursuits through the analysis ofthe works. The change of the appearance about the paintings of Velazquez is closely linked tohis experience. When he was young,Velazquez, who came out of Seville, later got rid of the influence of Caravaggio's "chiaroscuro" and became interested in the rich colors of Titian and the Venetian school.Under the influence of various styles,he gradually formed a unique expression of the true reproduction of light and space with color which was riddled with mystery. However,if the oil painting materials, painting techniques, and color toning methods of the Velazquez are studied and sorted out,it will be found that the Velazquez is constantly adjusting from canvas to color grounds to pigments in order to achieve real light effects about the way of reconciliation that the analysis and induction of the various stages of the work can summarize the use of color in it.The color blocks are arranged and presented in a chromatogram, and the chromatography of the work of each stage is put together.Through the chromatographic comparison to analyze how the change of color is affecting the light effect of the work which can present the gradual evolution of light expression in front of our eyes, revealing the secrets of the unique light generated by Velazquez.Velazquez is called "the painter of reality",and his "reality" has broken the traditional practice to some extent. But his work is not just a true representation of the world that the appearance of his works reflects the profound thinking of "human being"and the strong enthusiasm for expressing the real world, and this "reality" hides the cognition of the "unknown" part of the world.
