The Bohai state is a prosperous country in Northeast Asia from the seventh to the tenth century.Bohai culture,as a historical and cultural community composed of various cultural factors, develops on the basis of inheriting the old and absorbing the new.A better understanding of the cultural features of Bohai state will be made if archaeological study on the origin of the Bohai culture is processed. On the basis of systematically combing the archaeological relics of Bohai state, this paper studies the influence and succession relationship of various cultural factors embodied in the culture of Bohai. This paper is divided into the following six chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which puts forward the research object of this paper, sorts out the important archaeological discoveries of Bohai and the academic brief history of the research on the origin of the Bohai culture, and divides it into four stages.Previous studies on the origin of the Bohai culture have made great achievements and progress, but most of them are scattered in some reports or special studies on certain types of remains, and there is no comprehensive research on cultural factors as special topics. In view of the above problems, this paper proposes the research purpose, research ideas, and explanation on the related concepts. The second chapter is the Mohe nationality culture tradition in Bohai culture.Bohai culture inherits and develops the Mohe culture. The phenomenon ranging from the Soil pit grave in the Bohai, the burial customs such as the cremation, the use of birch bark, the burial of animal bones, building house on the grave to the half-cave-type houses, the traditional hand-made deep abdominal pottery pot,and dustpan-shaped pottery, and the shaman?s hollowed ornaments reflect the tradition of Mohe culture. Some of them continue to exist until the end of Bohai. All of these reflect the strong persistence of ancestral culture gene in Mohe. The third chapter is about the cultural factors of Koguryo in the Bohai. The Mohe people are culturally influenced by Koguryo,of which the form of tombs is influenced by the stone tombs of Koguryo.Koguryo culture influences the Bohai culture with double transverse ware and the perforated ware in the pottery, decorative tile,tongue-less imbrex,curved-back imbrex, eaves tile of Quadrature composition in the building component and the long-handle stirrups in harness. The forth chapter describes Tang culture in the Bohai state.Bohai culture follows Tang culture in many aspects, including the five-Jing system, the layout of the capital shape system featured Tang dynasty, and the architectural components such as Chiwei and Jitouwa, beast head and the double Lotus eaves tile. The Bohai tombs are made of bricks, use sloping tomb passage, build towers or sacrificial halls on tombs, paint murals of the Tang style in the tombs, use epitaph with lions statue, short handle stirrups,Tri-colored glazed pottery and statue and the like in the tomb, all of which are consistent with the tombs of the Tang Dynasty.Obviously,it is the expression of high Chinesization of the upper class of Bohai state. The belt with ring may be a gift from the Tang Dynasty.Small Brick tombs in the small-scaled tombs show that the lower class of Bohai state accept the influence of Tang Tomb. The Chinesization of Bohai shows the powerful leading role of the Tang Dynasty culture to the Bohai culture. The Bohai state is the huhan-state in the Tang Dynasty. The hierarchical difference is reflected in the culture of the Bohai culture, that is,the scale of the capital city in the Bohai is similar to that of the city of Yangzhou(which belongs to Tangzhou)and it is in the second level of the central plains in the system of using gates. The fifth chapter covers the grassland culture factors in the Bohai culture.the Turkic belt that found in Bohai, chessboard of Nine Men's Morris,8-shaped stirrups, are the influence of the grassland culture on the Bohai culture. This kind of influence should date back from as early as the Mohe period before the founding of the Bohai state.Grassland culture is mainly the influence of Turkic, and there is no evidence that Qidan culture influences Bohai culture. The sixth chapter is the conclusion, summarizing the paper results and insufficient.
