The Narrative Study Of One-act Play Script

The narrative research of the one-act play text requires not only the perspective of drama,but also the perspective of one-act play in the macroscopic drama history to grasp the general architecture of the one-act play.It also needs the perspective of narratology,which is based on detailed and in-depth text analysis and thus sum up the narrative experience.By doing this,the thesis is able to grasp the implications of narrative innovation.This thesis aims at completing the study of the genre style of the one-act play from the theoretical level of narratology.Since the Middle Ages,the prototype of one-act drama has been found in such small-scale dramas as secular drama,religious drama,interlude drama,episode drama,opening play and ending play.The popularity of framed stage and the maturity of theatrical scene structure provided the preliminary preparation for the independence of the one-act drama.At the end of the 19 th century,with the advancement of stage technology,the one-act drama became an independent theatrical style driven by the small theatre movement.Under the impetus of the left-wing trend of thought,the one-act drama became a theatrical style throughout Europe,Asia,Africa and Latin America.The one-act play is not a scene in a multi-act play,but a secondary structure of the drama "scene",which has a completely independent performance function.One-act drama is a useful exploration of theatrical form.Compared with multi-act drama,its advantage lies in its small structure.In terms of ”story”,the narrative function of one-act drama is mainly life and narration,mostly the common state or action in daily life.The narrative sequence of the one-act play is mainly composed of compound sequence,in which the one-act play of the plot type uses chain sequence,and the embedded sequence widens the narrative level of the one-act play,as the one-act play under the influence of the left-wing uses parallel sequence.The narrative events of the one-act play focus on the narration of single core events which desalinate the subordinate sequence.In the aspect of story existence,the characters of the one-act play are mostly functional characters,which is directly related to the fact that the one-act play is plot-based.The environment in the one-act play highlights the elements of social background and skillful use of material products,using symbolic and ironic environmental types.As far as "langue" is concerned,in terms of narrative structure and the point of view of narrative mode,the structure of one-act drama is mostly closed structure.From the perspective of narrative clues,the structure of one-act drama is mostly single-line structure.From the point of view of narrative characters,the structure of one-act play mainly includes person-event,person-events and people-event.Because the one-act play has only one scene,the limitation of time and space is more strict.And it has explored space and time extensively,with staggered space-time,freehand space-time and montage space-time appearing.The choice of narrative perspective of one-act play is mostly from the perspective of limited intellect and internal focus.This is because the stories of one-act plays are mostly related to the common state and action in daily life.One-act play has a unique and valuable role in the field of drama,often functions as the role of "experimental theatre".The beneficial exploration of narrative form of one-act plays mainly includes Metlink's "static theatre" and monologue plays.These two forms of drama mainly appear in the form of one-act plays.Some narrative methods are tried in one-act plays first,and then extended to other theatre.For example,when the plot of the story is less than the playwright's subjective consciousness,the double narrative of light and shade and the circular structure in the dramatic structure are first "experimented" in the dramatic genre of one-act play,and then further expanded.
