Buie Play Drama Narrative Analysis

Buyi play, as a kind of theatre, has the fundamental characteristics of plays:text actors, and audience etc, are available. As for the procedures, it has a beginning, a process, and an end. And as for its plot, there are narrations, descriptions, contradictions, and conflicts. Furthermore, Buyi play has its own characteristics: national costumes, ethnic customs, national daily life show, folk songs. ancient songs, Buyi Ba Yin (eight instruments’ sound) performances etc. Rooted in Buyi village, Buyi play is the treasure in Buyi culture. It is like a Buyi epic, recording Buyi people’s past and current; production and life; love and love among family members; oppression and resistance. Due to the effects of informational and new century, and the increasing number of rural young people emigrated workers in cities, Buyi play, as an art form of "man to man oral instruction" is now a endangered state of no heir. In order not to let this set of art, which combines the forms of Buyi culture traditions, customs, songs, dances, musics, disappear. Research from different disciplines have been conducted from various angles. This paper aims to the analysis of Buyi play’s performance texts.The subjects in this study are Buyi play performance texts.The research methodology adopted an important research method in Western literature research in the20th century, which is narrative theory and ethnology research. It focuses on the deep and quantitative analysis of Buyi play’s narrative models,character descriptions, narrative interactions and customs. Moreover, it highlights the importance of research on Buyi play’s performance texts and points out that this kind of research is an important way to maintain and protect Buyi play. Therefore, on the basis of theoretical method, it offers a broader view on the research of Buyi play.There are five parts in this paper:1.A brief introduction of Buyi People and Buyi play, together with the importance of this study.2.Conclusions of the popular models of narrations in Buyi play.3.Analyzing on the character structure and descriptions.4.The significance of customs employment in Buyi play.5.The narrative interaction of Buyi play in its performance.
