A Study On The Dialect Mechanism Of Hakka Group Identity

The Hakka community is known for its persistence and inhritance of Hakka culture and its outstanding cohesion and centripetal force.and it has a high sense of identity with its own ethnic culture.The Hakka dialect is a tool and bond for Hakka groups to communicate and maintain their emotions,and is considered to be the hallmark of Hakka groups.The Hakka dialect has unique emotional value and cultural significance for the Hakka community.With the rapid development of China's economy and society,the production and lifestyle of Hakka people have undergone great changes.The use and inheritance of Hakka dialects have faced unprecedented pressure.The value and significance of Hakka dialects for the identification of Hakka people also face new challenges.This study takes the dialect mechanism of Hakka group identity as the research object,and aims to reveal the relationship and influence between Hakka dialect and ethnic identity.Starting with the natural environment and population distribution of the Hakka community living area,clarifies the formation time of Hakka,ethnic affiliation,etc.,establishes a paradigm for viewing Hakka from the perspective of ethnic group,combs the shaping process of Hakka group identity,analyzes the characteristics of Hakka group identity It points out that the Hakka ethnic group identity is prominently expressed in language,production,lifestyle,cultural customs,etc.,and takes Hakka folk songs as an example to explain the performance and characteristics of Hakka female ethnic group identity.Taking Meixian dialect as the main reference,summarizes the phonetic,vocabulary,and grammatical features of Hakka dialect,and extracts the characters,examples,and example sentences that reflect the characteristics of Hakka dialect based on these features.According to the characteristics of Hakka dialect in initials,vowels and tones,comb 29 phonetic feature words of Hakka dialects;according to vocabulary sources(ancient Chinese words,modern and modern Chinese words,foreign words),use scope(general vocabulary,special vocabulary,basic vocabulary)Etc.to sort out 82 Hakka vocabulary features;according to the characteristics of Hakka dialect quantifiers,adjectives.and affixes,Hakka dialect comparative sentences,negative sentences,passive sentences and other special sentence patterns,extract 17 typical grammatical feature examples of Hakka dialects.Four survey sites were selected in Fenggang Town,Ganzhou,Jiangxi,Luodai Town,Chengdu,Sichuan,Xiayang Town,Longyan,Fujian,and Longkou Village,Lianshan,Guangdong,to investigate the dialect mechanism of the Hakka community.First,we investigate the internal mechanism of the dialects of Hakka group identification,that is,investigate the influencing factors and functions of Hakka dialect phonetic feature words,Hakka dialect feature vocabulary,Hakka dialect feature grammar,and Hakka group identity.The survey found that:Hakka dialect phonetic feature words,especially commonly used phonetic feature words,have close links with each element of Hakka group identity,and Hakka dialect phonetic feature words play a role in the internal elements of Hakka group identity;Hakka dialect feature vocabulary is directly related to Hakka group attitudes,ethnic affiliation,and ethnic involvement;Hakka people have a relatively high degree of consistency in the use of Hakka dialect feature grammar.Hakka groups have special word order,word order,and sentence patterns The characteristics show a positive ethnic attitude and a strong sense of belonging.Then,from the perspective of language use,we investigated the external mechanisms of the dialects identified by the Hakka group.The survey found that:Hakka dialects are dominant in the family domain and life domain,showing significant intergenerational differences;the rate of code conversion when speaking Hakka dialects Relatively low;Hakka dialects are still the first language to be learned by people in the Hakka region.Female Hakka dialects have a slight advantage,and female Hakka dialects are more capable;highly rated Hakka dialect as "kind" and "useful".Using SPSS 19.0 statistical analysis software to further qualitatively and quantitatively analyze the correlation between Hakka dialects and ethnic identity.The study found that when communicating with elders in the family domain,the respondents had a strong sense of self-identity and group belonging to the Hakka community,a significantly positive attitude towards the community,and a significantly higher awareness of ethnic involvement;Ethnic group self-identity and strong sense of group belonging;those with strong Hakka dialect ability have strong self-identity and group identity,with the highest enthusiasm for ethnic group involvement.The study believes that the use of Hakka dialects,Hakka dialect capabilities,Hakka dialect attitudes and ethnic identity have a significant impact,and further points out that the significance of Hakka dialects for ethnic identity is mainly to highlight ethnic self-identity and group identity,reflect ethnic attitudes,and reflect Ethnic involvement.The Hakka dialect influences ethnic identity through a variety of ways and means such as family intergenerational inheritance,school dialect education,and social dialect activities.Based on the above field investigation and theoretical analysis of the internal and external mechanisms of Hakka dialect group identity,this study believes that there are two main dialectic mechanisms that affect Hakka group identity,that is,the differentiation mechanism formed by distinctive language features within the language and the outside The inheritance mechanism formed by the joint use of dialect,Hakka dialect ability and Hakka dialect attitude.These two mechanisms infiltrate each other and exert the communicative rational role of language to influence the identity of the Hakka community.Finally,this research suggests correctly understanding the dialect mechanism of Hakka ethnic group identity,protecting Hakka dialects,inheriting ethnic culture,perfecting ethnic identity theory,actively playing the role of dialect mechanism in language identity,cultural identity,and national identity,and strengthening the awareness of the Chinese national community To enhance the cohesion of the Chinese nation and promote national unity and national reunification.
