A Study On The Problem Of "New Literati Consciousness" In Contemporary Meticulous Figure Painting

This paper attempts to rearrange and interpret the concepts of traditional literati identity and "literati consciousness",and to demonstrate the possibility of their value and form transformation with the replacement of cultural context in the new historical conditions,then put forward the concept of "new literati consciousness".The author believes that "new literati consciousness" is a unique aesthetic logic which extends the semantic system of traditional context into contemporary expression,is the product of post-modernist culture.It aims to establish an intertextuality of cultural context and expression mode.It has a certain connection with the traditional literati consciousness and contemporary artistic thinking,which makes it possible for them to communicate with each other.The difference is that the traditional literati consciousness is in a closed cultural form,based on a "unity of heaven and man" unique view of the universe life,with a way of alienation from the world,ignoring the specific time and space to express the primordial sense of life.However,"New Literati consciousness" takes place in an open and dynamic contemporary cultural context,is keeping constant dialogue and rethinking with the real society,is a replacement of the thinking of the ultimate value by a real experience of individual differentiation,and is a dynamic development of "presence" which is closely related to the individual life experience and the whole social culture."New Literati consciousness" not only provides a new creative path for contemporary art,but also provides an opportunity to re-examine and activate the traditional art.It plays a positive role in resisting the nihilism in post-modern culture and building the historical continuity."Literati consciousness" is the core idea and spiritual foundation of literati art.As the materialization of "literati consciousness","literati painting" is not the special reference of some aesthetic style.In the traditional sense,"literati consciousness" not only plays a role in freehand brushwork,but also in fine brushwork.As an aesthetic consciousness,it has a profound impact on the traditional fine brushwork(including fine brushwork figure painting)in terms of aesthetic value,aesthetic function,aesthetic form and so on.As far as fine brushwork is concerned,it endows "literati meticulous brushwork" with a new aesthetic style in the value Noumenon of Metaphisics level and form language of Physics level.This also gives us such a revelation: "meticulous figure painting",relatively "neutral" painting style,is not like "freehand brushwork" painting with a specific value point.It can be with a new meaning in a new value orientation through the restructuring of semantic structure.In the contemporary context,"new literati consciousness" makes meticulous figure painting beyond the marginal exploration of formal language,and takes "meaning form" as the core of expression,and really enters into the spiritual level.Thus forms the value connection between the traditional art resources and the contemporary expression.At the same time,just as we can’t simply definite contemporary art from the aspect of formal language,contemporary fine brushwork figure painting of "new literati consciousness" does not present the genealogy characteristics like the traditional literati painting.In fact,when expression,it is also fighting against a concept and form of expression that may lead to the gradual solidification of itself,in order to maintain its own vitality.Fundamentally,it shows a kind of dealing way of "meaning" and "Intelligence" value reconsideration,which is the the main thinking characteristics of "new literati consciousness".Through the establishment a tension relationship between subject and object,linguistic representation and artistic reception in the aesthetic activities to seek the fusion of the visual field,and through the establishment of the aesthetic relationship of "inter-subjectivity" to fit the new social and cultural reality.In the form of works,"the new literati consciousness" often does not get the meaning directly from the object image,but through juxtaposition,translation and incomplete type presentation of the "codes" existing in different meanings by new language logic.In this presentation,"poetic ","allegory","absurdity" are the three typical ways of "meaning" processing,which are not only rhetoric but also stylistic,and have realistic roots in different cultural forms.Among them,"poetic" does not show the meaning in the expression content,but carries on "the side to show" through the expression process;"allegory" mainly through the way of "the separation of speech and meaning" to complete narration with a coherent mataphorical relationship;"absurdity" mainly constructs a kind of image or logical structure which is contrary to the "common sense" to break the daily plot,to correspond to the existence reality without the ultimate value in the contemporary cultural context.In a word,the concept of "new literati consciousness" has the characteristics of openness and dynamics.It is not a classification or summary of some theoretical presupposition,but an empirical grasp of presence,it is full of variable factors on the basis of relative stable structure.Just as British cultural theorist Raymond Williams’ theory of "perceptual structure" emphasizes,it has always been maintaining its own vitality and the relevance to contemporary social life.This article takes the aesthetic subject’s identity and the consciousness characteristic as the breakthrough point,when takes these as the variable factor,"the generation","the gender personality" and "the cultural identity" manifests the difference;Through the different image material,language structure and logical tendency,it finally leads to the difference of the representation of the work,which breaks through the division of the form and style and points to the "human spirit" possessed by the creator himself.
