Study On The Series Of "Ban" Construction

Based on the synchronic plane,this dissertation uses the theory and method combining structuralism theory,cognitive theory and discourse function theory,combining static structural analysis with dynamic pragmatic investigation,quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis.A series of “Ban” constructions in modern Chinese—“Ban A Ban B”“Ban A Bu B”“Ban A Bu A”and“Yi A Ban B”.For the inspection and research of each construction,we follow the research pattern of “construction understanding-construction properties-Pragmatic function”.The understanding of construction adopts the way of understanding from small units to large units,that is,from the analysis and recognition of the components of the construction to the analysis and recognition of the construction.The A,B or A in the construction is mainly examined from the aspects of nature,semantic characteristics,semantic relations,order relations,and the selection conditions of A and B.From the standard of function and meaning,the nature of “Yi” “Ban”and “Bu” in this structure is defined and the inside meaning of the above three is explained.On this basis,the meaning and properties of each construction are summarized.The nature of construction often directly determines the pragmatic characteristics of construction,and then it can analyze the pragmatic motivation of construction.The construction of“Ban A Ban B” means “A fuzzy state between typical A and typical B”,which is a relatively objective expression of fuzzy state.The construction has the function of description.It has the property of “sub-typical category expression of low-quantity fuzzy state”.The over all meaning expression of the construction is based on the semantics of A and B,but also deviates from the typical meaning category of A and B.In order to satisfy the quantitative and qualitative criteria in the principles of communicative cooperation,the core pragmatic effort can be used for objective description,and the pragmatic agent can express the objective world or the fuzzy state of things accurately.The construction of “Ban A Bu B” means “the difference negates the positive meaning of A or B,A and B,and affirms the negative meaning of the commitment”.Expression “not so much ‘positive sense undertaking A/B/A+B'” “some ‘negative sense undertaking A/B/A+B'”.The core language work can be used for subjective evaluation,and the pragmatic motivation is to realize the negative evaluation of the objective world or situation in the fuzzy state,and express the feelings of inappropriateness,even disgust and dissatisfaction of the speaker.“Ban A Bu A” construction is basically the same as “Ban A Bu B” in terms of meaning and properties.The construction means “affirm negative meaning item A or negate positive meaning item A”.Since there is only one term of A in the Ban A,the semantic contradiction and complexity are weakened,and the subjectivity is also weakened.The core language function can be used for judgment,and the pragmatic motivation is to judge the nature of the objective world or state between “Bu A-A”,which is biased to“Bu A” and based on the objective facts and has certain subjectivity.“Yi A Ban B” construction means“some or a certain degree of the category of meanings that A and B belong to”,which is a kind of approximation expression method,and it has a strong advantage in the subjective even small amount expression in the imaginary expression.The nature is “Subjective light-talking construction”.The pragmatic function is mainly that the speaker deliberately describes events,situations,and influences that are originally [A] levels as [A-] levels.Pragmatic motivation is to achieve the degraded treatment of objective situation and objective events,so as to improve the acceptability of the objective situation and events between the two parts of communication.
