Since The Reform And Opening Up, The Chinese Communist Party Has A New Understanding Of The Nature Of Socialism

Correct and deep understanding of the essence of socialism determines the rise and fall of China's socialist construction.Meanwhile,it is a major basic theoretical issue in the scientific socialism discipline,Thus,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to study this issue and make it clear.After the establishment of the socialist system in China,the Chinese communists,represented by Mao Zedong,made arduous explorations on the essential features of socialism and gained a preliminary understanding.In the practice of reform and opening up,the Chinese communists represented by Deng Xiaoping have rediscovered the essence of socialism and made important achievement.The Chinese communists,represented by Jiang Zemin,Hu Jintao and Xi Jinping,have continued the exploration and further deepened the understanding of the nature of socialism.This dissertation focuses on the Chinese Communist Party's new understanding of the nature of socialism since the reform and opening up.Following the principle of unity of history and logic and using different methods such as dialectical materialism and historical materialism method,literature research method,comparative research method and historical investigation method,this dissertation systematically explores the Chinese Communist Party's understanding of the essence of socialism after China's reform and opening-up.By tracing back to the classic Marxist writers' exploration of the characteristics of the essence of socialism,this dissertation summarizes Chinese Communists' major theoretical achievements on the essence of socialism in the recent 40 years and studies the background and reasons of the formation of these theoretical achievements.This dissertation consists of the introduction,five chapters and the conclusion.The first chapter briefly expounds the exploration of the essence of socialism by classical Marxist writers.The second chapter discusses Deng Xiaoping's understanding of the essence of socialism,probes into the background and causes of the formation of Deng Xiaoping Theory and discusses its theoretical and practical significance.The third chapter deals with the reunderstanding of the essence of socialism since the 14 th NCCPC by the CPC represented by Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao.Chapter four discusses the essence of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era proposed by Xi Jinping since the 18 th NCCPC.Chapter five summarizes the four decades' theoretical achievements on the understanding of the essence of socialism by CPC since the reform and opening up,which includes the following five points: the primary task of socialism is to liberate and develop productive forces;the fundamental position of socialist value is to stick to people-centered philosophy of development and work to promote well-rounded human development;the core socialist value is to pursue fairness and justice in the whole society;the socialism with Chinese characteristics is a new kind of civilization in essence;the defining feature of socialism with Chinese characteristics is the leadership of the Communist Party of China.The theoretical achievement on the new understanding of the essence of socialism made by CPC since the reform and opening-up can be summarized as follows: the essence of socialism with Chinese characteristic is to make people-centered development under the leadership of CPC,to liberate and develop productive forces,to realize common prosperity and social harmony,to maintain fairness and justice,to promote well-rounded human development and all-round social progress.There is no end to practice,nor end to knowledge,nor end to theoretical innovation.At present,our understanding of the essence of socialism is still preliminary.With the development of practice and the progress of the times,our understanding of the essence of socialism will be deepened.
