Zhang Wentian is a famous theorist.As a proletarian revolutionary,he had held important positions in Communist Party of China(CPC).His thoughts on party building serve as the valuable assets of CPC's ideological theory system.Zhang distinguished himself among CPC members since he had studied in the U.S.A.,Japan and Russia and familiarized himself with philosophy,psychology,economics,literature and art,which enabled him to develop unique and innovative thoughts on party building.Since joining CPC,Zhang developed a rule on pondering and researching questions,which focused on strengthening and improving CPC's leadership.Hence,the object and scope of Zhang's research could be attributed to party building.When probing into his economy works,one could even classify Zhang's study into political economy and boil it down to the leadership of a party and the theories of proletarian party.However,few experts have yet to take a thorough research on Zhang Wentian's thoughts due to historical reasons.This paper aims to specify and elaborate the rule mentioned above and summarize his thoughts in each period within the framework of Party Building.Thanks to his unique experiences,Zhang's thoughts on party building are logical and complete.Upon returning from Moscow,he was appointed as the minister of Publicity Department of CPC Central Committee.Since then,he had taken several senior positions in CPC Central Committee.Such a background of his was conducive to analyzing,studying and improving the organization system of CPC,which was a core feature of Party Building during that period and blazed a new trail for future work.The second feature of Zhang Wentian's thoughts on party building is his tremendous contribution to the values of CPC on party building,which is composed of democracy,party-masses relationship as well as party spirit—the guiding principle of Zhang Wentian and CPC members.To be specific,CPC developed the collective leadership system when Zhang was in charge of the central committee,which is the main characteristic of Zhang's thoughts on inner-party democracy.As a result of inner-party democracy,the collective leadership system greatly facilitated the success of democratic revolution for CPC,thus becoming the fine tradition and important experience of the Party.Zhang's thoughts on party-masses relationship,being positioned from the perspective of Party theory,are rather rigorous and complete.His party-masses theory involves the main contents of the mass viewpoint brought up by the central committee later.Zhang raised the question of people's democratic rights,which took the general discussion of caring for people's life and production a big step forward.Besides,his statements of the relationship between CPC's strategies and the masses as well as the reality are quite original,which indicates that his view on the reality is objective.Zhang Wentian's thoughts on party spirit are closely related with his thoughts on democracy and party-masses relationship.Because Zhang was mindful of democracy and the masses,he had a strong sense of party spirit,which could be proved by his practices.Zhang's knowledge is action,which became his distinct character and a basic quality of CPC members.Since dogmatism was corrected,he was always politically sober-minded,which could be attributed to his political character and quality.The third feature of Zhang Wentian's thoughts on party building is that he had made unique contribution to the theory of Marxism's localization in China and the theory of proletarian dictatorship.As for CPC,the above-mentioned two theories serve as the foundation of CPC party building.But for the two theories,CPC could not have found the suitable path for revolution and socialist modernization.The paper aims to analyze the formation of the theory of Marxism's localization from the perspective of historic and theoretical logic.Zhang Wentian,Mao Zedong and other leaders had played their due role in the formation of the theory.Zhang's role was unique,because Zhang played an irreplaceable role during the process in terms of theory and practice,which was also his historical value and responsibility.How to scientifically understand the theory of proletarian dictatorship was Zhang's major contribution to CPC's basic theory.The theory of proletarian dictatorship is a historically basic theory and a part of Marxism,which elaborates the process of all the people,under the leadership of the proletariat,striding toward communism.During the process of proletarian dictatorship,the contradiction emerged from the social development should be carefully dealt with.Only with the grasp of the principal contradiction,could CPC lay a foundation for communism.Therefore,the relationship between productivity and productive relations should be the focus of important theories.Zhang Wentian insisted that developing productivity should be the priority of socialist construction,believing that CPC's main political mission should be severing socialist economic construction.He pointed out that the dictatorship of the proletariat led by CPC couldn't be consolidated unless socialist economy developed rapidly.To prove his point,Zhang incisively analyzed the duality of productive relations,which furthered the theory of relationship between productivity and productive relations and scientifically interpreted the fundamental theory of Marxism.Zhang Wentian's thoughts on party building could be summarized as one organization system,two important theories and 3 basic views,which serve as the center of Zhang's thoughts.Thanks to his special contribution to party building,Zhang exerted influence to the two historical strides of Marxism's localization in China.In the last chapter of this paper,which is about the value and enlightenment of Zhang's thoughts on party building,the author proposes that CPC should attach importance to theoretical innovation and scientific building of CPC.Only by doing so,can CPC keep its vitality.To wind up,Zhang's thoughts on party building is unique in academic research and study and will win more recognition with the passage of time.His thoughts on party building are the precious quintessence of CPC,which deserve our respect.
