Fine Chinese Traditional Culture(FCTC)is regard as precious treasure of our nation,which contains various moral standards of interpersonal corporation and living wisdom in personal life.It is a collection of our common spirit,mentality,mode of thinking and value in maintaining a stable society.The FCTC is a foundation of our modern civilization,a channel in disseminating positive energy,and an important carrier of core value of Chinese Socialism.The FCTC may help contemporary college student understanding our history,promoting civilization,and enhancing patriotism.With the help of the FCTC,college students can build a correct outlook on life,values,and the world.On Nov.12th 2013,the 3rd Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of Chinese Communist Party(CCCCP)has announced "Decision of CCCCP on Major Issues concerning Comprehensively Deepening the Reform" which emphasized the education policy of the Chinese Communist Party on persisting on humanity and moral education,on strengthen the education of the core value of Chinese socialism,and on improving the education on FCTC.In order to enhancing the social responsibility,creative spirit and practical capability of the college students,the policy also proposed a long-term mechanism,which aimed to keeping love-studying,love-laboring and love-home-country activity effectively.On March 26th 2014,the Ministry of Education published "Guidance on Improving Fine Chinese Traditional Culture Education" which proposed a stepwise plan on promotion FCTC.According to this plan,the college students are required to understand that the FCTC is the foundation of Socialism with Chinese Characters;to be able to assess the modern value of FCTC by using dialectical method,to analysis the relationship between FCTC,Sanitized Marxism and Socialism Core Values.In order to improve the education of FCTC,the priority is to let the college students realize the high value of FCTC,or building up culture identification with FCTC.Based on this theory,this paper studied the education of FCTC for college students,explored the pathway of improving the college students' culture identification with FCTC through analyzing the mechanism of culture identity establishing.The author wishes this paper can be a reference on improving education of FCTC,can provide new methods and thinking for Ideological and political education for college students,and can promoting a correct outlook of values for them.The paper is structured as seven chapters as followed:Chapter One is the introduction chapter,which introduced the background and aims of the study.This chapter analyzed the aims and importance of the study,defined the relevant concept,reviewed the latest research from domestic and foreign researchers,and accepted some previous research results by using dialectic method.A literature review was conducted in this chapter aimed at the insufficient of the existing research.Based on this review,this chapter established the research idea and methodology,and made some clarification on the key points of the research.Chapter Two defined the theoretical framework for the study.The foundation of the study is a series of classical and contemporary theories,including the culture identification theory in Marxist philosophy,the theory framework of socialism with Chinese characteristics,and culture identification theory from psychology perspective.This chapter firstly acknowledged that the inner contradiction of the culture and of the individual is the theoretical support of the culture identity and development,and also acknowledged that the practical activities are the major pathway to establish the culture identity.Then,the theoretical fulcrum of the study was set up based on a series of contemporary theories announced by the Chinese leadership,including the theory of spiritual civilization construction by Xiaoping Deng,the theory of representing the advanced culture in 'Three Represent Theory',the theory of people oriented in 'Scientific Development Concept' and the speeches regarding the Chinese traditional culture by President Xi.This chapter also reviews the culture identification theory from psychology perspective.Chapter Three addressed the opportunities and challenges in building culture identification with FCTC among college students.The paper expressed the opportunities from the following four perspectives:the inner advantage of the FCTC,the promotion by the governments and the Communist Party,the requirement of higher education and the demand by the college students.Then the paper concluded four challenges,which are the shock of modern thoughts,negative impact of cyber culture,lack of humanity education in higher education,and cognitive deviation of some college students.Chapter Four analyzed the results of the survey regarding the culture identification with FCTC among different level of college students.Based on the existing literatures and the survey data collected from these college students,this chapter firstly analyzed the current status of the culture identification with FCTC of contemporary college students.Then a descriptive analysis was conducted from three aspects which are:survey data of the culture identification with FCTC,the college student's identification with the significant social function of the FCTC and the identification with the connection of FCTC and the core value of Chinese Socialism.The chapter then utilized a simple theoretical model to process the survey data,and analyzed the factors that impact the identification of the college students with FCTC.Chapter Five described the content of the FCTC.Based on internal logic and hierarchical structure of the concept of general culture system,the paper defined the FCTC as behavior culture and achievement culture.The paper addressed the behavior culture from three perspectives,which are the patriotism based national spirit,the social responsibility based collective consciousness and the personal cultivation based civic virtues.The achievement culture was defined as tangible culture,including historical sites,classics literatures,and revolutionary culture resources,and intangible culture,including traditional oral art,performance art of minorities,festival celebrations and traditional manual skills.Chapter Six introduced mechanism of the identification of college students with FCTC.The mechanism in this paper refers to that in order to realize the identification of college students with FCTC,the rules and relationship of the cooperation among factors of culture identification system.This mechanism mainly involves two factors which are the process of identification and the level of identification.This chapter dynamically analyzed the process of identification with FCTC of college students based on the following five segments which are recognizing,feeling,experiencing,internalizing,and practicing.The chapter also analyzed the mechanism of identification of college students with FCTC based on four different levels of identification,which are knowledge identification,emotional identification,value identification and behavior identification.Chapter Seven explored the pathway of improving the identification of college students with FCTC.According to the analysis result of the paper,there is a gap between the expecting and existing level of identification of college students with FCTC.Therefore,the paper proposed a pathway to improve the identification of college students with FCTC from five different levels which are the state,the society,the higher education institute,the family and the individual.
