The Study On The Effectively Methods For The Integration Of Chinese Outstanding Traditional Culture And Ideological And Political Education Of College Students

Traditional Chinese culture is the precious legacy of our Chinese nation. Its abundant content constitutes an inexhaustible resource for the ideological and political education of college students. Being affected by the times, however, traditional culture inevitably generated some limitations during its development, such as the feudal hierarchy, the three cardinal guides and the five constant virtues, etc. Thus, in order to be carried on and promoted among undergraduates effectively, traditional Chinese culture has to be reassessed and inherited critically, which means we have to discard traditional culture’s dregs, take its essence guided by the principles of Marxism, and give full play to the educational function of splendid traditional culture in the ideological and political education of college students.In recent years, Chinese excellent traditional culture’s function in the ideological and political education has earned more and more respect and attention. At the same time, our government has also introduced a series of policies and regulations to understand and develop traditional culture from improving soft power strategic height. The Central Document 16 Opinions about Further Improving College Students Moral and Politics Education, together with the Outline of the Program for Cultural Reform Development during the Twelfth Five-Year Plan and the Report of the 18th National Congress of the CPC, points out we should carry forward Chinese excellent traditional culture and attach importance to its educational significance toward college students.Meanwhile, along with economic globalization and the development of market economy, the ideological and political education of college students is also faced with unprecedented opportunities and challenges. On the one hand, changes of times, development of economy and prosperity of culture have made contemporary undergraduates present new characteristics of the new period and new phase. They have transformed a lot in behavior habits, value ideas, thinking patterns, attitudes toward life, etc. Under this circumstance, it becomes much significant to enrich and perfect the connotation of the ideological and political education of college students as well as meet the needs requisite to their development. Traditional culture exactly plays an important role during this process. On the other hand, Chinese national spirit is absent from undergraduates to some extent. In recent years, phenomena about the absence of social responsibility, the weakening of credit consciousness and the distortion of value orientation among college students have emerged in an endless stream. Adverse atmosphere such as utility and luxury consumption has spread continuously in campus. A fracture already exists in Chinese excellent traditional culture among undergraduates.Therefore, it’s more and more important to combine excellent traditional culture and the ideological and political education of undergraduates and give full play and inherit the fostering function of our splendid traditional culture, guided by Marxist principle, as an integral component of ideological and political education in colleges and universities plus a new subject which ideological and political educators are faced with.
