Research On Ideological And Political Education Resources In Republic

Plato's Republic is universally acknowledged as a classic western work.Educators and thinkers all over the world draw spiritual nourishment from it to meet the needs of reality.People often pay too much attention to Plato's philosophical thought,but ignore the valuable ideological and political education resources which contained in the Republic.Plato systematically expounds the symbiotic relationship between politics and education,and that is essentially ideological and political education,which is called differently in the West.Taking the Republic as the first text and taking into account its internal relations with Plato's other dialogues,this paper organically integrates and classifies the ideological and political education resources which are scattered in the Republic.The author condenses the four main themes in The Republic,which are justice theory,virtue theory,soul turning theory and soul recall theory.Under the guidance of Marxist theory,this paper tries to review the ontology,essentialism,epistemology and methodology of Ideological and political education one by one,and deepen the theory of ideological and political education.First,Plato's theory of justice.Justice is an important clue throughout the Republic.Plato has found city-state justice and individual justice in the pursuit of justice from the big to the small,and opened up the discussion of the unified relationship between individual and community.But the harmonious operation of community is the fundamental focus of Plato's justice theory.As for the limitation of his view of justice,Marx realized the inheritance and Transcendence of the ideological achievements of his predecessors from the perspective of historical materialism and aiming at the liberation of all mankind.In Plato's theory of justice,the proposition of the highest value ontology of goodness,and the related exposition of individuals and communities are also of positive significance,which is an important reference for reflecting the ontology of Ideological and political education.The ontology of ideological and political education explores the foundation of life significance for individuals from the individual dimension,and establishes the basis for the legitimacy and truth of state power from the national dimension.Secondly,Plato's theory of virtue.In order to solve the conflict between philosophy and politics and save the city-state from peril,Plato put forward the idea of "philosopher-king" which reconciles the philosopher's virtue with the city-state's politics.He believes that education is the top priority of the city-state,and that the governance of the ideal city-state by the "philosopher-king" is to educate citizens to adapt to the political system and lifestyle of the city-state community.The reason why the national community can become a "real community" also requires education to realize the ideological identity of each member of the community to the national ideology.Education is a political action leading to a "real community" in the future.This is inherently consistent with the essence of Ideological and political education.The essence of Ideological and political education is to complete the education of human beings through the value of community.On the level of public politics,the value goal is to make people become citizens;on the level of individual virtue,the value goal is to make people become citizens.Thirdly,Plato's theory of soul turning.Plato's theory of soul turning has profound implications and is closely related to his thought of justice.After finding the justice of the city-state,Plato demonstrates the justice of the individual soul,that is the orderliness of the three elements of reason,passion and desire in the soul,according to the analogy of "from the big to the small".But Plato was not satisfied with the demonstration of this "short path",and the "long path" approach to the idea of goodness was just about to emerge.Plato explained the theory of ideas through the metaphor of the sun,the metaphor of the line and the metaphor of the cave,and proposed that the purpose of the turning of the soul is to behold the highest good.It can be said that the theory of soul turning is not only the key for the "philosopher-king" to rescue prisoners from caves and obtain truth,but also the necessary leap from the visible world to the knowable world.It is also an epistemological puzzle for ideological and political education to achieve value consensus.The epistemological nature of ideological and political education is the experience of the fusion of horizons and the unification of ideas between the educational subject and the subject of value identification.Finally,Plato's theory of soul recall.Plato first put forward the soul recall in the mid-term dialogue Meno.He not only demonstrated the soul recall theory in Meno and Phaedo,but also affirmed it in the Republic.Plato believes that knowledge is inherent in the immortal soul,and learning is to recall the knowledge inherent in the soul's previous life.The theory of soul recall clarifies the natural path of human knowledge acquisition.Real enlightenment is not the giving of knowledge,but the excavation of noumenon reality,the stimulation and nourishment of all potential of noumenon,and the realization from self-restraint to the original state of soul.Plato inherited Socrates' dialogues and questioning teaching methods to inspire people to recall the inherent truth in the soul,which not only gave birth to the embryonic form of implicit ideological and political education,but also laid an important foundation for the research of implicit ideological and political education methodology.To sum up,Plato not only made great contributions to the basic theoretical research of Ideological and political education,but also his way of understanding and thinking should also be established as a model.That's why Plato's Republic has the enduring intellectual charm.The rich ideological and political education resources contained in his profound insights also need to be further explored and renewed.
