| With the development of the research in Humanities and Social Sciences in China,a large number of foreign-language digital resources(FLDR)are introduced, but they can’t meet the increasing needs of researchers. The scarcity of FLDR in university libraries coexists with the lower utilization of them. The continuance usage of FLDR in university libraries will promote the rapid development of the research in Humanities and Social Sciences. Therefore, the study on affecting factors of FLDR continuance usage will have great significance in Humanities and Social Sciences theoretically and practically. This paper carries out the following tasks:(1)Having reviewed the literatures on utilization and continuance usage of FLDR in university libraries in e-services and other related fields home and abroad;having explored the key affecting factors of continuance usage from different perspectives, such as satisfaction, technology acceptance,habit.(2)Having interviewed 15 researchers from Humanities and Social Sciences by exploratory interviews to initially determine affecting factors of FLDR continuance intention in university libraries;according to the results of interviews and Expectation Confirmation Theory-Information System Continuance(ECM-ISC),Technology Acceptance Theory(TAM),American Customer Satisfaction Index(ACSI),Expectation Confirmation Theory(ECM),Perceived Behavioral Control Theory(PBC),having constructed a theoretical model on continuance usage of FLDR for humanities and social researchers, and having presented 15 research hypotheses.(3)Having designed a questionnaire with Chinese characteristics;having collected 330 valid questionnaires from Humanities and Social Sciences throughout the country by online survey and fieldwork.(4)Having made descriptive statistical analyses on the distribution of the samples and their understanding and using FLDR in university libraries;having tested assuming model by SEM method to further verify the hypotheses based on normal test, reliability test and other tests.(5)Having tested the effects of demographic and research characteristic variables by independent-samples t test and one-way analysis of variance(one-way ANOVA);Having examined the moderation of demographic and research characteristic variables by subgroup analysis.Findings indicate that:(1)Habit,self-efficacy,perceived usefulness and satisfaction are the main affecting factors of FLDR continuance intention for humanities and social researchers, and they have greater positive impacts on continuance intention directly or indirectly;meanwhile, perceived ease of use, confirmation, perceived quality and facilitating conditions have less positive impacts on continuance intention indirectly, but the hypothesis that facilitating conditions have positive impacts on continuance intention directly will need further research.(2)Demographic and research characteristic variables have different effects on A1(level of understanding FLDR),A2(level of importance of FLDR),A4(level of FLDR meeting demand),A5(the time of using FLDR)and A6(the frequency of visiting FLDR).(a)Gender, academic rank, degree,"the number of papers published on the domestic core journals since the last year" and "the number of papers published on the international journals since the last year" have effects on A1;(b)Gender,discipline,academic rank and "the number of papers published on the international journals since the last year" have effects on A2;(c)Discipline has an effect on A4;(d)Gender,discipline,academic rank, degree, years of doing research and "the number of papers published on the international journals since the last year" have effects on A5;(e)"The number of papers published on the international journals since the last year"has an effect on A6.(3)Demographic and research characteristic variables have different effects on latent variables including continuance intention(CI),habit(HAB),perceived usefulness(PU),satisfaction(SAT),self-efficacy(SE),perceived ease of use(PEU),confirmation(CONF),perceived quality(PQ)and facilitating conditions(FC).(a)Gender, degree and "the number of papers published on the international journals since the last year" have effects on Cl and HAB;(b)Discipline, degree,"the number of papers published on the domestic core journals since the last year" and "the number of papers published on the international journals since the last year" have effects on PU;(c)"The number of papers published on the international journals since the last year" has an effect on SAT;(d)Gender, degree,"the number of papers published on the domestic core journals since the last year" and "the number of papers published on the international journals since the last year" have effects on PEU and SE;(e)Discipline has an effect on CONF;(f)Gender and "the number of papers published on the international journals since the last year" have effects on PQ;(g)Characteristic variables have no any effects on FC.(4)Demographic and research characteristic variables have effects on moderating 13 research hypotheses which have been validated.(a)The hypotheses that habit and perceived usefulness have positive impacts on continuance intention are moderated by discipline;(b)The hypothesis that self-efficacy has a positive impact on continuance intention is moderated by gender, age, discipline, degree, years of doing research and "the number of papers published on the international journals since the last year";(c)The hypothesis that satisfaction has a positive impact on continuance intention is moderated by gender and degree;(d)The other research hypotheses are moderated by characteristic variables to varying degrees. From perspectives of manufacturers of FLDR,libraries, humanities and social researchers, and in accordance with the affecting factors which have been validated, this paper proposes six thoughts and suggestions to promote continuance usage of FLDR in university libraries for humanities and social researchers.Suggestions include that:(1)Developing,designing and maintaining FLDR in a user-centered way to improve perceived quality and perceived ease of use;(2)Introducing and purchasing FLDR reasonably to improve their usefulness according to professional settings in Humanities and Social Sciences and the needs of researchers;(3)Providing embedded subject services to improve the satisfaction of humanities and social researchers;(4)Perfecting services platform of libraries to improve the satisfaction of humanities and social researchers;(5)Strengthening information literacy education to improve the self-efficacy of humanities and social researchers;(6)Providing hierarchical and diversified information services to improve the confirmation of humanities and social researchers based on demographic and research characteristic differences. Finally, this paper illustrates the innovation of the research, proposes the problems needing further study and discussion, and indicates the research trends on FLDR continuance usage in university libraries for humanities and social researchers. |
