Research On Ningxia Mass Communication Network Construction (1926-2018)

At present,the study of space transfer in communication studies at home and abroad has become a manifest trend in which the relational problems between time and space and between communication and social development have become the focus in the study of space transfer.In order to conform to the research trend of space transfer in communication,promote the further development of regional communication research in China and propel the further development in the research of news communication in Ningxia,this study selects Ningxia as the background to investigate the activities of mass communication in local space.It selects the historical period of’ nearly 100 years from 1926 to 2018 as the background time to investigate the activities of mass communication in the local space.It focuses on interactive relationship of the mass communication network in Ningxia in the dynamic mechanism of the construction,generation and evolution,the structural characteristics and internal elements,and its impact in promoting political unity of the nation,the cultural pluralism and the national integration.This study intends to solve the following questions:How to start from the speciality to pursue universality?How to refine the function mechanism of the local mass communication network in propelling and promoting the development of national integration while emphasizing the local mass communication experience,and realize the understanding of seeking common ground above differences?This paper has five chapters.On the whole,it sorts out the practice of news communication of major mass media in Ningxia during 1926 to 2018,presents the venation of their occurrence and development,and shows the scenes in which some media disappear,vanish,and fracture development.Adopting a diachronic and structural perspective,combining the discipline knowledge of history,sociology,journalism,communication and other disciplines and based on the literature,this paper outlines the whole process and the panorama of the generation and evolution of mass communication network in Ningxia over the recent 100 years,and constructs four models of mass communication network in Ningxia in different historical stages.Introduction.This section illuminates the background of the subject,the reasons of the subject,the research thought,the research significance and the research questions.It summarizes the research at home and abroad,and evaluates and analyzes the research status of news communication in Ningxia.It also defines the core concepts and illustrates the research methods and possible innovations in the paper.This section answers why study this proposition,what research methods are used,and what kind of research goals are trying to achieve.Chapter One.This chapter shows the process in which Ningxia is produced as a local space,and the multi-ethnic social relationship that exists in this space.It shows the practice of news communication of major mass media in Ningxia from 1926 to 1949,and refines the five structural characteristics of the dualistic mass communication network of Ningxia.It expounds the historical significance of the generation of the dualistic mass communication network in Ningxia,and outlines three factors that restrict the development of Ningxia’s media during this period and affect the construction of the mass communication network in Ningxia.Chapter Two.This chapter illuminates the reasons and process of the spatial formation of Ningxia as a area in regional autonomy of ethnic minorities during the period from 1949 to 1979,and explains the particularity and generality of this area.It presents the practice of news communication of major media in Ningxia in this period.It believes Ningxia has formed a ternary mass communication network dominated by the broadcasting communication network and refines the five structural characteristics of the ternary mass communication network in Ningxia,and analyzes the supporting and restrictive effects of media system,media infrastructure and media technology on mass communication network of Ningxia.Chapter Three.This chapter shows the practice of news communication of mass media in Ningxia from 1979 to 2003 and considers that it has formed a multiple mass communication network dominated by television communication network in Ningxia.Besides,it refines the five structural characteristics of multiple mass communication network in Ningxia.It believes that the mass communication network plays a significant role in constructing the multi-ethnic relationship and the image of national unity of Ningxia.At the same time,it analyzes the dual impact of the development and establishment of the media system on the construction of mass communication network.Chapter Four.This chapter presents the practice of news communication in traditional media,new media,and neoteric new media in Ningxia during 2003-2018.It reckons that Ningxia has formed an unprecedented panoramic mass communication network intertwined with multiple levels,multiple categories,multiple medium forms,and multiple power,and refines the four structural characteristics of the panoramic mass communication network of Ningxia and dissects the concept of medium integration and the status quo of Chinese media integration and the media integration of Ningxia.It analyzes the solidification,migration and mobility of user groups,and the impact of new media such as government affairs Microblog and WeChat on mass communication network of Ningxia.Conclusion and Outlook.This paper finds that there are three main factors that promote and motivate the generation and evolution of mass communication network in Ningxia over the recent 100 years.It is the power that runs through the whole process of the evolution of mass communication network,which always plays a leading role;the institutional arrangement of national unity has provided a strong support for its generation and evolution;the allocation of infrastructure and the development and innovation of technology have become a strong driving force in the evolution of mass communication network of Ningxia.This paper also finds that the effects of mass communication network of Ningxia on promoting political unity of nation,cultural pluralism and multi-ethnic integration,and reflecting,shaping and constructing national image of multi-ethnic unity and local image are irreplaceable.The mass communication network in Ningxia has presented the following four structural characteristics over the recent 100 years.It has developmental characteristics:extreme instability-relative instability-relative stability-instability.Meanwhile,it also has the characteristics of unbalanced development in the structure,aggregation in the hierarchy,dispersity in the category and weak connectivity in the internal dimensions of the network.The current enlightenment of the construction,generation and evolution of mass communication network in Ningxia over the recent 100 years is that the evolution process of the media form in the future is bound to be the process in which different media coexist and mutually transform.Media convergence can facilitate the combination and connection in communication networks.Finally,the competition among media communication network,government system communication network and self-media communication network will be more intensive.
