Study On Spatial And Temporal Characteristics And Driving Mechanism Of Island Tourism Performance

Tourism industry has become one of the largest economic industries in the world during the 21st century.It has attracted wide attention from all sectors of society.The islands have become an important basis for developing marine economy promoting social progress,safeguarding coastal security and maritime rights and interests,due to its special space and unique resources.As human activities shifting from the mainland to the sea,island tourism becomes one of the most popular forms of tourism,and island becomes a popular tourist destination.China is one of the most island countries in the world.The island tourism resources are rich.The climate of island is pleasant.The island is adjacent to the developed area.The market prospect is wide.They have advantages of developing tourism.Island tourism and coastal tourism have good development opportunity by the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road Economic Belt.The development of island tourism in China is booming.Island tourism has become an important force in promoting the development of tourism.In 2009,the state council issued Some Opinions on Promoting The Development of Hainan International Tourism Island.which marked the official rise of Hainan international tourism island as a national strategy.In the same year,Pingtan Comprehensive Te.st Area was formally established.It becomes the leading area for scientific development of The West Coast Economic Zone and exploring new models of cross-strait cooperation.On May 20,2010,Dalian Changshan islands Tourist Summer Resort was established,which enjoying the relevant policies of the coastal economic belt of Liaoning province.Zhoushan Islands New Area was established in 2011.It became the first national strategic new area with the theme of marine economy.It has formed an development and construction system of all-round,three-dimensional from south to north,from breadth to depth.Island tourism industry as an important driving force for the development of island economy plays an increasingly prominent role.But there is a tendency to value input and disdain output during the development of island tourism.The realistic problems to be resolved is how to plan island tourism industry scientifically,and configure island resources reasonably,and promote the quality and efficiency of island tourism.So it can realize the development of island tourism transformation and upgrading.This is not only related to the sustainable development of island tourism,but also to the comprehensive and coordinated development of the island economy.The thesis is guided by the theory of sustainable development,ecotourism theory,competitiveness theory,location theory and systems theory based on the above requirements of theoretical study and practical development.The paper combines the methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis.It measures island tourism performance from two aspects of island tourism performance and efficiency through constructing the evaluation system of island tourism performance.The paper analyzes the spatial and temporal difference characteristics of island tourism performance and its evolution trend.The paper deeply analyzes the dynamic mechanism of island tourism performance by identifying the influencing factors of island tourism performance.The paper puts forward the macro paths and the targeted measures for improving the performance of island tourism.The main conclusions are as follows:First,there is a larger difference of island tourism performance,and the imbalance is obvious.Tourism performance has not achieve a good level from the point of island tourism performance for all island counties(districts).Tour performance for Dinghai,Putuo,Daishan,Shengsi and Yuhuan is good.Tourism performance of Dongshan,Changhai,Changdao,Dongtou and Nanao is general.Tourism performance for Pingtan and Chongming is poorer.Putuo,Changdao,Dnghai and Shengsi are in the first team from comprehensive efficiency,Yuhuan and Dongtou are in the second team.Changhai,Daishan,Nanao and Dongshan are in the third team.Tourism comprehensive efficiency average level of Pingtan and Chongming is the lowest.Putuo and Nanao keep the DEA optimal level from technical efficiency.Changdao,Dinghai,Shengsi,Dongtou and Pingtan are higher.Changhai,Daishan,Yuhuan and Dongshan are relatively weak.Chongming is the lowest.From scale efficiency,Putuo maintains the optimal level of DEA.Changdao,Dinghai,Yuhuan and Shengsi is close to the optimal level of DEA.Daishan,Dongshan and Dongtou are stronger.Changhai and nanao is low.Chongming and Pingtan are at the lowest level.Second,the overall difference of spatial and temporal characteristics of island tourism performance is not big.The relative difference is obvious.Dinghai,Putuo,Daishan,Shengsi,yuhuan have long been in highest and higher areas.Chongming,Pingtan and Nanao have long been in low and lower areas.There is possibility for island tourism performance state to transfer.But the overall development pattern is basically stable.Island tourism performance may be in a "poverty trap",and there are obvious "club convergence" phenomenon.Third,the driving forces of island tourism performance through the interaction of influencing factors is to form an island tourism performance system.They drive the development of island tourism performance.The dynamic mechanism of island tourism performance is divided into support force and driving force by using EVIEWS6.0 software to identify the influencing factors.Support forces include hinterland economy,ecological environment and urbanization.Driving forces include island economy,industry,traffic,tourism service and science and technology.Support and driving forces jointly promote the development and change of island tourism performance.Based on the above results,the paper suggests that island counties(districts)enhance the level of tourism performance from macro paths for environmental protection,scientific use of island space,construction of the whole region tourism,reform of tourism product supply,development of tourism industry.At the same time,based on the island counties(districts)tourism performance in four grades of highest,higher,low and lower,the paper put forward maintenance measures,reform measures,incentive measures,cultivation measures according actual situation of each island.
