Empirical Study On Planting Decision Behavior Of Forage Grass Producers In China

Agriculture is the basic industry of national economy,animal husbandry is the pillar sector of agriculture,and forage grass industry is one of the important points to improve the quality and efficiency of animal husbandry and even the whole agricultural supply-side structural reform.Especially under the background of the transformation and upgrading of the domestic food consumption structure,the strategic adjustment of the agricultural structure,the increasingly tight resource constraints and the increasing pressure of the ecological environment,it is very urgent to actively promote the development of the forage grass industry while protecting and effectively utilizing the natural grassland.However,under the influence of traditional farming culture,the development of forage grass industry in China is slow,and it is only a matter of more than a decade for the country to truly make decisions on forage grass as an industry.In recent years,despite the rapid development of the forage industry in China,it is still far from the market demand,and the gap of the main forage grass products in China is more than one third.Therefore,based on a large number of first-hand data of production practice,it is of great practical significance to make an empirical study on the behavior and influencing factors of forage growers' production decisions and explore how to promote the rapid development of forage grass production in China.The general objectives of this study is that if there is economic benefits for forage planting and forage grass growers' decision-making about ?planting or not?,?planting area?and related decision-making influence factors of forage grass production.The study based on the farmer's behavior theory to analyze forage grass growers' decision-making behavior and its influence factors.Because the forage grass as the intermediate products as well as competition crops to food crops,producers planting decisions will inevitably be influenced by the connection condition between forage industry and its terminal consumer market as well as the economic benefit comparison with food crops.Based on the eight typical provinces 527 households survey questionnaire data,the production cost income data from 2011 to 2018 which was provided by forage grass industry economic research department,and the competent department of calendar year limited macro data,the empirical research methods were used,such as the coupled coordination degree model,input oriented BCC model and Malmquist model,binary selection model etc.,to measure the herbivorous livestock husbandry industry and forage grass industry coupling coordination degree and its change under different time and space conditions,and to analyze forage grass production and of grain crops production comparative benefits,technology efficiency,total factor productivity as well as relative changes,and to do descriptive statistical analysis of forage grass growers behavior characteristic.And then the paper also analyzed different operation scale and different operation types the forage grass plant decision-making behavior of forage producers from the perspective of risk aversion,and the future planting intention and its key influencing factors with different operation scale and different operation types.It has made some marginal academic contributions to enrich the economic research field of forage grass industry,enrich the research content and expand the research perspective.The main conclusions of this study are as follows.The coupling coordination of the grass and livestock industry is on the rise,but it is still in the transition zone and the regional differences are obvious.There is much room for improvement in the technical efficiency of forage grass planting.The influence of risk aversion on the forage planting decision behavior of different sample groups was significantly different,and other important factors such as education level and availability of production machinery also had different influences on the planting decision.There were obvious differences in planting intention among different types of producers,and policy support and other factors could significantly improve planting intention.The organizational behavior positively affected the willingness of the producers to plant grass,but the effect on the different types of producers was significant.Based on the research conclusion,this paper puts forward the following countermeasures and Suggestions: first,promote the coupling of grass and livestock industry system according to local conditions,and encourage the development of the combined management model of grass and livestock;Second,improve the level of independent research and development of key technologies,promote technological progress,and improve the production efficiency of forage industry;Third,establish and improve the industrial risk management system to escort the healthy and stable development of the forage industry;Fourth,strengthen the degree of organic development of forage production and encourage the innovation of benefit sharing mechanism;Fifth,we will improve the policy support system and ensure that policy support is delivered with precision.
