Abstract/Summary:
Seventy-five participants from project-driven manufacturing and service organizations in the United States responded to a survey to determine whether there was a relationship between individual creativity and individual productivity. Survey data were analyzed via simple regression analysis. Regression showed that the relationship was positive and substantial. P-values showed the relationship was statistically significant. Pearson's correlation coefficient revealed a moderate association among individual creativity and individual productivity. The Johnson creativity model, assembled with constructs from the literature, parallels the survey criteria and helps to explain why these moderate relationships are important. The findings in this dissertation are associated with (1) leader-follower relationships, (2) knowledge, skill, and motivation, and (3) individual vs. group behavior within the organizational environment.
