Abstract/Summary:
This action-research study explored the perceived benefits and impact of the one-to-one laptop program at Union Catholic Regional High School. Data sources integrated into the study included surveys, focus groups, classroom observations, interviews, and archival data. Participants included the Principal, administrators, curriculum specialists, faculty members and students. The overriding finding of this study confirmed that the implementation of a one-to-one laptop program enhanced the educational experience for students and faculty alike. Additional findings revealed the laptop program empowered students to take ownership of their learning and enhanced both their study and communication skills. The study also highlighted the positive impact on the faculty, as substantiated by renewed enthusiasm, revised curriculum and upgraded educational methodology.
