Alternatiuve education (AE) settings are generally for students who are at risk or experiencing educational failure in typical public schools. Although there is research to support the effectiveness of school-wide positive behavior support (SWPBS) in general education settings, research is limited in the area of school-wide intervention approaches for an AE setting. This case study analyzes the differences in student behaviors pre- and post- implementation of SWPBS in an AE setting for students with a variety of special education verifications. This descriptive case study examined if there is a relationship between SWPBS implementation and student aggression, negative teacher consequences, and appropriate student behaviors. Visual analysis was used to determine trends of student behaviors and the use of teacher consequences. The student data indicated a decreasing trend in the use of safety seat as teacher consequence post-implementation of SWPBS, but no significant change in student aggression or appropriate behavior.
