Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this study is to examine the decision making styles of a group of middle managers in post secondary institutions, registrars. Following the principles of the Vroom models of leadership and decision making, a survey instrument was generated and submitted electronically to 800 registrars.;The survey asked the registrars questions of their perceptions of decisions made by their superiors which they implemented and perceptions of their own decision effectiveness. Results showed registrars want to be more involved in the decision-making process with their superiors and that they include their own staffs in decisions when the office could be better served if certain decisions were made independently or were delegated to staff.
