The task type mixture assessment tool (Task Quotient(TM) (TQ)) was used to identify an individual's task type preferences and a set of post-assessment instructions was used to provide preference awareness. The task type preferences evaluated included routine (repetitive), troubleshooting (problem solving) and project (planning) tasks. Five items from a company survey were used a priori Task Quotient(TM) use to establish the perception score baseline for job satisfaction, employee involvement, and employee empowerment and also used post Task Quotient(TM) exposure. The quantitative research findings revealed: (a) that significant positive changes in perceptions of job satisfaction, employee involvement and employee empowerment occurred and were directly related to increased task type preference awareness resulting from Task Quotient(TM) exposure and, (b) that the routine task preference contributed most to the significant positive change in perceptions, followed by project task preferences. Troubleshooting task preferences did not contribute to positively changing perceptions. This research's findings have empirically demonstrated that a link between gained job content awareness and its affect on factors of intrinsic motivation exists. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Job, Employee empowerment, Employee involvement, Task type, Perceptions, Awareness | | Related items |
