Abstract/Summary: | |
This single inductor dual-output boost DC/DC converter provides two independently regulated outputs with an average efficiency of 80%. The proposed converter uses PWM current mode control, targetted for white LED driver in wireless power management application. The converter operates in discontinuous mode at 500kHz using a 6.8uH inductor. A drain-extended 0.13um technology allows backlight application up to 11V operation. The chip occupies 2.07 mm 2. System analysis provide the guide lines for zero cross regulation between two outputs when using the time-multiplexing control scheme. A novel high-speed driver circuit has been implemented which is used to drive the power switches operating at high voltage (11V) while using low voltage rating devices. |
