Both Hegel and Marx insisted that capitalism would eventually collapse and be supplanted by a third stage of historical development comprised of a higher state of unity with the added benefit of retaining the individuality developed during the capitalistic phase. However, as a student of Hegel, Mark believed that this third stage of historical development would not occur until the "soils of history" were prepared for such a transition. The capitalistic system, as the second stage of historical development, was viewed as a historically necessary stepping stone toward fulfilling this end, especially in the context of advancing technology and developing productive forces to a sufficient level so that a higher socio-economic order could plausibly work and eventually become a superior framework for development of the same. Assuming, then, that these so-called 'soils of history' and technological and productive force advances have sufficiently arrived at a stage of development to fulfill these prerequisites, this dissertation attempts to model specific features and characteristics of one possible design for a future higher-ordered society.; Following an introduction in Chapter I, Chapter II explores existing information about the subject, Chapter III proposes a united order model built upon a particular set of founding principles and/or elements, and Chapters IV through VIII prescribes a few of the details of how some of the key features and characteristics could be foreseen to play out. They include the issue of motivation (Chapter IV), social-decision making processes (Chapter V), the issue of equality and property relations (Chapter VI), the possible mechanisms of planning (Chapter VII), and the issue of economic growth and development (Chapter VIII).; Using a structural framework of a united order based on principles of theodemocracy, consecration, and stewardship, this dissertation concludes that it is possible to design a feasible model that can be used to build a higher-ordered society. With this model, not only is class society, including poverty and elitism, eliminated, but most of the major problems and/or adverse effects known to be directly caused by capitalism are overcome as well. The final chapter, Chapter IX, discusses these results.
