Abstract/Summary:
With the U.S. standards of No Child Left Behind (NCLB), school leaders have the responsibility of not only being a strong educational leader, but ensuring that students have high quality programs. For superintendents, to manage a district that has high quality programs for at-risk students, policies need to be in place. Based on the research in this study, policy makers can improve student academic performance by implementing policies that support mentoring programs with strategies including but not limited to home visits.
