| The quality of management in the supply chain has been recognized as one of the most important ways to respond quickly, correctly and profitably market demands. Despite the growing interest in knowing the relationships that define quality business to business and marketing relationships, there is no consensus on what comprises such constructs. The main objective is to develop a conceptual framework that can establish that variables that impact the quality of the relationship between company and supplier so as to obtain greater efficiency in the supply chain.;The initial sample consisted of 512 participants that work in companies that are members of the Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association established in Puerto Rico. A total of 136 participants from local organizations answered the questionnaire for a participation rate of 27%. Through statistical analysis, including factor analysis, linear regression and structural equations, validated the instrument and the conceptual framework. The results indicate that there are 10 dimensions that affect the quality of the relationship of buyers. The analysis supports the argument that the control, communication, flexibility, cooperation, collaboration, commitment, risk, information, trust and strategy are positively related to the quality of the relationship between companies and suppliers.;This research makes a contribution to the theory because it proposes a high-level quality relationship construct and presents an instrument for the benefit of researchers and participants in the field. The relationships of the constructs examined apply to the reality of Puerto Rico business, so that an application of this instrument in other countries could help generalize the findings. |
