Abstract/Summary:
Many researchers in the field of management information systems have studied the user's intentional behavior toward technology acceptance on the basis of research settings of a variety of user populations and different kinds of information systems. For a better understanding of users' acceptance behavior toward information system usage, this research investigated the potential influence of user perception of system quality and individual characteristics on user technology acceptance behavior by adopting a quantitative research methodology using online surveys to collect data from business users from more than 2,000 different employers. The studied information system was a web-based application mainly used by human resource employees to maintain their employees' information with a state pension service agency. The research results revealed that gender and user perceived system quality were the moderating factors that could influence user perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, and thus impact user technology acceptance behavior. The results could provide technical guidelines for decision makers and system designers in planning and designing new information systems. This study contributed to the body of knowledge related to technology acceptance model research.
