Electrostatic and transport properties of interacting low-dimensional mesoscopic systems are studied theoretically. The investigated effects include mesoscopic fluctuations of the charge of a Coulomb-blockaded quantum dot and of conductance of a Coulomb-blockaded double-dot structure, the Kondo effect in a quantum dot in the presence of ac field, and electron energy relaxation in presence of magnetic impurities.
