Abstract/Summary:
A set of novel models is proposed to address issues in modern distribution system reliability evaluation. The models are designed for calculating distribution system reliability indices, optimization of protective device selection and placement, and checking of circuit breakers. The models can be applied efficiently in radial and meshed network configurations. Model applications are feasible both in system design as well in system operation. Practical application of the proposed models has been examined using a prototype software implementation in analysis of case studies with published test system and as well as a real utility system.
