This dissertation presents the development of characterization techniques performed on polycrystalline thin film solar cells. Tests such as I-V, C-V, Spectral Response, steady state performance measurements and computer simulations were done. The data from these experiments were used to develop a model. Several models based on diffusion theory and thermionic emission theory were examined, but failed to provide self consistency. Ultimately, it was the Shockley-Read-Hall model that provided accuracy and self consistency. The relationship between the diode quality factor, A, and reverse saturation current, J... |
