Abstract/Summary: | |
A literature review was performed on both Joseph Campbell's concept of the Hero's Journey and the psychodynamic theory of Object Relations. These two areas of study, which respectively represent the field of mythology and psychology, were then integrated into a concept termed the Journey of Therapy. The Journey of Therapy organizes and structures Object Relations Theory around the concept of therapy as a Hero's Journey. It is hoped that this conceptualization of the therapeutic process will allow clinicians greater accessibility to Object Relations Theory in the practice of therapy. |
