Abstract/Summary:
P-V-T equations of state of the ;Nonhydrostaticity and its effect on P-V-T measurements are addressed. Deviatoric stress in gold, in a diamond anvil cell with neon as a pressure medium, was measured based on X-ray diffraction lines of gold. Nonhydrostaticity is observed above 15 GPa and below 650 K, with a maximum value of about 0.6 GPa for the measured deviatoric stress at P = 30 GPa and room temperature.
