Abstract/Summary:
Thin, adherent and uniform films of iron pyrite FeS;A complete MOCVD system was designed, analyzed and constructed. The system comprised of an inverted stagnation point flow reactor which employed a novel capillary plug as a gas distributor, an optimized inverted diffuser and a programmable resistance heater. The reactor operated at atmospheric pressure without substrate rotation to deposit thin, uniform films of iron pyrite. The uniformity of thickness of the films was ;A fluid dynamical model was developed to analyze the nature of gas flow through the capillary plug, the boundary layer along the diffuser walls and the boundary layer on the substrate. It was used to correlate the reactor operating conditions such as gas flow rate and gas viscosity to the reactor dimensions. The gas flow through various reactor shapes such as cylindrical, triangular, diffuser and an optimized diffuser was simulated under varying conditions of temperature, flow rate and configuration by a flow visualization technique employing TiO;Several new sources of sulfur such as ;The iron pyrite films thus deposited were p-type. A photoelectrochemical cell p-...
