Abstract/Summary:
Scope and method of study. Circular dichroism (CD) was used as a stand alone detector for determinations of pharmaceuticals and related substances. Investigated compounds included ;Findings and conclusions. The CD spectropolarimeter detector was successful in all of the above applications. Data collected from the CD spectra allowed accurate and reproducible determinations to be made for most samples, even commercial pharmaceutical preparations with complex matrices were analyzed. Quantitation of multicomponent mixtures was possible, however, the relative error in measured and actual analyte concentration for the least abundant component in a tertiary mixture was unacceptably high.
