These Iranian professionals have experienced conflict and problems as they integrated into U.S. workforce.;The problem under investigation in this study was the identification of conflict between Iranian manager experience and expectations. The goal of this study is to collect information that could be an aid to greater understanding between Iranian professionals and the companies that employ them.;The research methodology was the structured interview using a 10-item format. Fifteen participations were selected and interviewed for 45-60 minutes. These were chosen from members of the Iranian professional society and through networking contacts.;In general they were satisfied with the corporate culture of the companies in which they were employed. Communication presented a problem and leadership style was satisfactory. Hard working, good education, familiarity with Western culture, knowing how to deal with people were factors of their success.;The outcome of this study suggests that more effort needs to be spent on communication since it is a barrier for Iranian professionals. It is essential that Iranian professionals remain open minded and learn how to work with people regardless of personality or cultural differences. Rather than trying to change people they manage, they should try to change themselves.;Iranians should remain proud of their culture and values but socialize with Americans and respect their culture as well. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Iranian, Culture, Communication | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
