Abstract/Summary:
The Business and International Education Program Needs Assessment was conducted to determine the need for international business programs which could be offered by Mott Community College by surveying 348 employers from the Greater Flint Metropolitan Area, 1,096 Mott Community College Students, 364 high school students, and 137 adult education students.;The results support the development of international business programs to help small businesses develop a wide variety of international business activities and an interest on the part of students to be introduced to international business concepts as a part of their overall business education. Based on the survey results, eight recommendations are suggested: (1) design, develop, and implement seminars and workshops; (2) conduct a survey to determine the nature and extent of businesses' interest in international business counseling services; (3) provide an international business resource center to include a variety of services; (4) include an international business component in appropriate business courses; (5) develop an international business option in the existing business two-year degree programs; (6) develop international internship and co-op programs; (7) develop partnerships with high school teachers and students; and, (8) provide international business information to adult education students.
