Abstract/Summary:
Purpose. The purpose of this study was to evaluate, in a high school biology laboratory course containing students of widely differing abilities, the effectiveness of a mastery learning strategy in promoting cognitive growth as measured by a mid-course and end-of-year laboratory practical exam.
