The increase in the Latino population intensifies the existing disparity between the number of Latino students who enroll in four-year higher education institutions and the number of individuals within this population who successfully earn a baccalaureate degree. This study examined Latino students' retention in higher education from the perspectives of faculty who teach FYE courses at Hispanic Serving Institutions. Findings obtained from the panel of experts can facilitate in the development of a comprehensive First Year Experience course that has persistence implications for Latinos beyond the freshman year. |
