Dodecylamine is one of the important mineral flotation collectors. It has flotation effect on oxy-salt minerals of lead and zinc, but the recovery rate is not high. Therefore,to devolop new class of collectors or auxiliary collectors on oxy-salt of lead and zinc mido nerals with comprehensive recovery ability,is an effective way to solve the contradiction between the supply and demand of lead and zinc resources in China. In the flotation process of lead-zinc minerals, the hydrophilic group of the collector can coordinate with the metal ions on the surface of the mineral to form the complexes by the coordination bonds or weak chemical bonds,to capture the target mineral. Therefore,by combining the theory of coordination chemistry and the mechanism of the mineral flotation process to develop a new serial of auxiliary collectors for lead-zinc oxy-salt minerals can increase the efficiency of development and utilization of mineral resources. In this paper,as two typical Lead-Zinc oxysalt minerals, the flotation behaviors of cerussite and smithsonti has been investigated. The collective recovery effect of Dodecylamineon as main flotation agent and three types of auxiliary activators on two minerals was systematically studied. One kind of auxiliary is the heterocyclic aromatic compounds, which are 8-hydroxyquinoline and quinaldine;another is monocyclic aromatic compounds, which are 2,2'-bipyridyl-3,3'-dicarboxylic acid and 6-methyl-pyrazine-2carboxylic acid;the third one is single aromatic ring with dicarboxylic acid organic agent, which are phenyl Malonic acid and phenethylmalonic acid. The coordination effect of different of auxiliary collectors with lead(?)or zinc(?)was systematically studied. The interaction models of auxiliary collectors with cerussite and smithsontie were investigated. The flotation effect of different types of auxiliary combined with dodecylamine were researched. In the experiruental, the auxiliary collector with heterocyclic structure,8-hydroxyquinoline and quinalic acid, were selected and reacted with lead(?)and zinc(?)metal ions, respectively.Four complexes,8-hydroxyquinoline-Lead,8-hydroxyquinoline-Zinc,quinaldine-Lead and quinaldine-Zinc were prepared, analyzed and characterized by infrared spectroscopy and X-ray single crystal diffractometry. In the complex of 8-hydroxyquinoline-Lead,lead(?)and 8-hydroxyquinoline formed a five-membered chelate ring coordination configuration, and further forming a tetranuclear supramolecular structure by the bridge of lead ion.In the complexes of 8-hydroxyquinoline-zinc,quinaldine-lead and quinaldine-zinc complexes, the coordination of the nitrogen atoms of aromatic ring and the carboxyl oxygen on the 8-hydroxyquinoline and quinaldine formed a monomeric compound.According to the coordination mode and spatial structure of the complexes, the interaction model of 8-hydroxyquinoline and quinaldine with surface metal ions of cerussite and smithsontie was established. The auxiliary collectors with single heterocyclic structure and the wide ability of coordination mode,2,2'-bipyridyl-3,3'-dicarboxylic acid and 6-methyl-pyrazine-2-carboxylic acid, were selected and reacted with zinc(?)ions,respectively.2,2'-bipyridyl-3,3'-dicarboxylic acid-zinc and 6-methyl-pyrazine-2-carboxylic acid-zinc complexes were obtained and characterized by IR spectroscopy and X-ray single crystal diffraction.Their interspace structures were analyzed by combining the IR spectroscopy and CCDC crystal database information to establish the coordination mode of 2,2'-bipyridyl-3,3'-dicarboxylic acid and 6-methyl-pyrazine-2-carboxylic acid with metal ions.Phenylmalonic acid and phenethylmalonic acid with fatty chain selected as the auxiliary collectors with organic ligands reacted with lead(?)or zinc(?)ions supplemented by planar ligand of bipyridine and phenoline, respectively.Four complexes of phenylmalonic acid-lead,phenylmalonic acid-zinc,phenethylmalonic acid-lead and phenethylmalonic acid-zinc were prepared by normal temperature volatilization method.Their molecular structures were characterized and characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction and IR spectroscopy. The results showed that the lead ions in the phenylmalonic acid-lead complex had four coordination modes;the zinc ions of the phenylmalonic acid-zinc complex was a pentacoordinate tetragonal pyramid configuration. The metal ions in the complex of phenethylmalonic acid-zinc are in a six-coordinate octahedral configuration.Based on the coordination mode and spatial configuration of the above complexes, the interaction model of phenylmalonic acid, phenethylmalonic acid with the metal ions of the surface of cerussite and smithsontie was established. The structures of the complexes also showed that the nitrogen and oxygen atoms in the six auxiliary collectors selected were good coordination atoms, and can react with lead and zinc ions to form the complexes with different configurations. The complexes formed into a supramolecular structure by weak interactions such as hydrogen bonding and aromatic ring packing.Coordination bonds and abundant weak chemical bonds may lead the reaction of the auxiliary collector with the surface of the cerussite and smithsonite to improving the flotation result. The results showed that dodecylamine had a good collection effect on Cerussite and Smithsonite.Under the natural pH and room temperature conditions, the recovery rate of white cerussite is 88.71%with the dosage of dodecylamine is 25 mg/L.When the dose is 50 mg/L,the recovery rate of smithsonite was 85.44%.All 6 activators could improve the flotation recoveries of Cerussite and Smithsonite. For Cerussite, with the dosage of dodecylamine is 25 mg/L,the effect of the auxiliary collectors phenethylmalonic acid and phenylmalonic acid are most obvious. The recovery rate is up to 98%.Compared with the flotation index of dodecylamine added, the recovery rate increased by 24.09%and 24.05%,respectively;for the rest of auxiliary, such as quinaldine,6-methyl-pyrazine-2carboxylic acid,8-hydroxyquinoline,the recovery rate increased 22.06%,20.74%,20.43%respectively;the effect of 2,2'-bipyridyl-3,3'-dicarboxylic acid was relatively poor, the highest recovery rate is 91.06%and only increased 16.86%.For Smithsonite, with the dosage of dodecylamine is 25 mg/L,the effect of phenethylmalonic acid is the most effective. The maximum recovery was 97.94%and increased 26.44%.The orders of the recovery rate were as follows:phenylmalonic acid,6-methyl-pyrazine-2carboxylic acid,8-hydroxyquinoline and 2,2'-bipyridyl-3,3'-dicarboxylic acid the with 21.36%,21.26%,17.58%and 17.26%increased;The effect of quinaldine is relatively poor, with the highest recovery rate of 88.67%,increased 17.14%.
