The work commitment of coal miners becomes the key for the sustainable development of coal enterprises.Coal is still the main energy source for China in the future from the perceptive of coal reserves,productions,and consumptions,but coal enterprises are still facing severe challenges.For example,the ecological environment is extremely harsh,human factors are the key causes of coal safety accidents,the management caused by miners' risk perception of unemployment is increasingly complex,and government has implemented overcapacity cut policy and energy structure transformation strategy.Traditional coal enterprises are also facing severe challenges,for instance,spiritual culture lacks systematicness,institutional culture lacks scientificity,behavioural culture lacks normalization,and material culture lacks attention.Furthermore,the safety accidents in coal enterprises present increasing trend,the wages of coal workers continue to decline,coal miners are depressive of the psychological expectation,and there are serious organizational conflicts in the coal enterprises.Therefore,work commitment is the premise of ensuring the stability of safety behaviors because human factors are the key causes of coal safety accidents in China,and commitment is an intrinsic motivation for the persistence of behaviors.Thus the work commitments of coal miners are facing serious challenges as well as becoming the key for the sustainable development of coal enterprises.This study is to explore the structure and measurement of the cultural emotions of coal miners,and the relationships between the cultural emotions of coal miners and their work commitments.This study firstly analyzed the structure and presentation of emotions in the organization context,clearly explained the connotation and structure of cultural emotions,and put forward the conceptual model and research hypothesis.Then,coal mines of state-owned coal mining group company were selected as the interviewees,the scale of cultural emotions of coal miners,and the scale of risk perception of unemployment of coal miners were developed by using qualitative research method.Questionnaires were used to acquire data,furthermore,exploratory factor analysis,confirmatory factor analysis,regression analysis and other statistical method were adopted to analyze the descriptive statistics,differences and relationships among cultural emotions,work commitments and risk perception of unemployment of coal miners.Finally,dynamic simulations were conducted based on the relationships between key variables,and targeted policy recommendations to promote the work commitment level of coal miners in China were put forward.The main conclusions are shown as follows.(1)The connotation and structure of cultural emotions.Based on the related connotation of organizational culture and emotion,this study defined cultural emotion as follows.Employees acquire the information of organizational culture stimulation through the sensory system,form the cognition and evaluation of organizational culture,and produce some emotional responses accordingly,and trigger a series of emotional expressions and certain behavioral tendencies.This study summarized the structure of cultural emotion by reviewing related literature,and found that cultural emotions include five aspects: the natural value dimension of cultural emotion,the normative dimension of cultural emotion,the interest dimension of cultural emotion,and the responsibility dimension of cultural emotion.(2)The framework of cultural emotion and risk perception of unemployment.There are eight first order categories of cultural emotion via qualitative analysis,and they are human nature and equity dimension,employee-organization relationship dimension,respect and identity dimension,institutional rigidity dimension,responsibility and development dimension,interest and distribution dimension,decision-making and execution dimension,scientific and preciseness dimension.There are three first order categories of risk perception of unemployment via qualitative analysis,and they are risk perception of policy-based unemployment,risk perception of individual differences in unemployment,and risk perception of technological applicability unemployment.(3)The conceptual model.This study regarded cultural emotion,risk perception of unemployment,and work commitment as a whole,cultural emotion was the independent variable,work commitment was the dependent variable,and risk perception of unemployment was the moderating variable.In addition,the statistical variables of coal miners comprising demographic variables and personality variables were also included into the conceptual model.(4)The relationships between cultural emotion,risk perception of unemployment,and work commitment.The empirical analysis findings show that there are significant effects of the cultural emotions of coal miners on the work commitment.The work value commitment has positive relationships with the human nature and equity dimension,respect and identity dimension,employee-organization relationship dimension,and interest and distribution dimension of cultural emotions.The work involvement commitment has a positive relationship with the human nature and equity dimension of cultural emotions,but it has negative relationships with the respect and identity dimension,and employee-organization relationship dimension of cultural emotions.The work relation commitment has positive relationships with the respect and identity dimension,and employee-organization relationship dimension,and scientific and preciseness dimension of cultural emotions.The individual work performance commitment has positive relationships with the respect and identity dimension,and employee-organization relationship dimension of cultural emotions.The work quality commitment has negative relationships with the respect and identity dimension,and employee-organization relationship dimension of cultural emotions.The team work performance commitment has positive relationships with the respect and identity dimension,and employee-organization relationship dimension,and decision-making and execution dimension of cultural emotions.In addition,the results of moderating effects research show that the risk perception of policy-based unemployment plays a moderating role between cultural emotion and work commitment.The moderating effect of the risk perception of unemployment is significant between the human nature and equity dimension of cultural emotion and work quality commitment,and it is also significant between the scientific and preciseness dimension of cultural emotion and work involvement commitment(5)The suggestions for improving the work commitment of coal miners in China.Based on the empirical analysis results and the current policies,this study proposed some suggestions for improving the work commitment of coal miners in China from the perspectives of cultural emotion,risk perception of unemployment,and work commitment of coal miners.This study has 56 figures,144 tables,and 272 references.
