The Formation And Development Of The Body View Of TCM

The Body View of TCM is the comprehensive understanding about the life. We can find out not only the knowledge of the structure and function of the human body but also the penetration of the Traditional Chinese Culture into the TCM through the study on the body view of TCM. Therefore, it is a very important field in the correlation research between the TCM and the Traditional Chinese Culture.This article analyzed the relational social and cultural backgrounds in the process of the building and developing of the TCM theroies, and elaborated the influence of the Traditional Chinese Culture in the TCM through the study on the Kidney and the Life Gate in the view of the ideological history. Then the author discussed the content and features of the body view of TCM, as well as its construction methods and its evolution at different times.As a conclusion, the Studies suggest that the body view of TCM has a distinctive feature of emphasis on space-time, circulation, function and affiliation. The focus of the research on the body view of TCM is to analyze the several elements during the construction process of the body view of TCM, understand the difference between the subject of the body and the interpretation methods of the body, and discover the evolution of the body theories. The article also pointed out that the esthesia of the Method and Technique of Health to the structure and function of the body set up the foundation of the body theories, and the Knowledge of Astronomy and Prediction made those theories more systematic. The the formation and development of the Kidney theory showed the conversion of the focus of discussion about the the body view of TCM from external, material and disarray to internal, function and order, and the Life Gate demonstrated the conversion from the generative theory to the ontology theory of the physiology. At last, it was indicated that the variation of the body view of TCM in the conflict between Chinese and Western cultures was another expression of the evolution of the traditional Chinese space-time view.
