The "culture revolution" is a catastrophic political event of contemporary China, which caused great damage to the Chinese psyche. The narration of the memory of "culture revolution" not only cures spiritual wounds but also directly constructs the social order of contemporary China. The memory of "culture revolution" is characterized by structural change and diversification from the end of "culture revolution" to now. Literature is the most important carrier of the memory of the "culture revolution". Moreover, the memory of "culture revolution" offers important materials for contemporary literature. Meanwhile, the creating and spreading of the literature of "culture revolution" has significant influence on the development direction of contemporary literature and culture. Taking the novels of the "culture revolution" as the subject of research, this study analyzes the stage characteristics of the memory of "culture revolution" constructed by literature, and the establishment and change of the witnesses'self-identity, and the concerned cultural topic as well as the narration consciousness of the memory of the psychological trauma.According to the structure and change of the memory of "culture revolution" the memory of "culture revolution" can be divided into three stages:1976-1984, 1983-1993 and 1993 to now. The first stage is dominated by political ideology. In this stage both the intellectuals and the folk participate in the reconstruction of the collective memory in order to make them innocent. The characteristic of the second stage is that the intellectuals try to rethink profoundly. In the 1990s there is a tendency of diversification and individualization. In fact the writers with those kinds of consciousness produce contemporary literature and culture as intellectuals. Their psychological trauma has significant influence on the construction and the formation of contemporary culture. The memory of "culture revolution" makes them have no faith in active civilization. This mentality not only has influence on the narration of the memory of "culture revolution" but also contribute to the negative culture. The narrations of "culture revolution" literature have the characteristic of loss of faith and violence as well as indulgence. The change of the three image molds of the past thirty years (the intellectuals, the red guards-educated youth and the masses of the people) are investigated. These three kinds of image molds are the victims and persecutors as well as bystanders in the memory of the "culture revolution" respectively. As the victims the intellectuals assume the mission of transformation and then pay more attention to the weakness of the human in catastrophe. As persecutors the red guards always reanimate over the start point and the legality of old hero-dream. The masses of the people initially play the role of rescuing in the catastrophe and then gradually turn into bystanders. Most narrators adopt a utilitarian stance and seek to obtain the immediate value, but neglect the catastrophe of more victims. This study analyzes the style and culture function of the narrations of the memory of "culture revolution". The purpose of this study is to release the psychological trauma and rethink the contemporary culture. On the diversification of the narration of the "culture revolution", this study propose that the narrations of the memory of "culture revolution" through literature should stand a specific ground that we should not forget that it is a catastrophe that caused a lot of people killed. We propose to narrate the memory for the victims as a caution in the deep heart of the whole nation in the condition of the permission of the diversification of the writing.
