The study of children's media socialization is the product of communication and traditional socialization study.From the perspective of communication,based on the basic frame of media effects,it takes the media as the primary research object and explores the impact of the press on children's socialization.From the perspective of traditional socialization study,based on the various children's socialization agents analysis frame,socialization agents such as families and schools are regarded as the primary sources of early socialization,and the media is viewed as secondary sources of early socialization.With the advancement of media technology,intergenerational change,the change of communication paradigm,and the development of mediatized society,the past study of children's media socialization led to the following shifts: First,the study of media-centralism was formed.This kind of research pays too much attention to the communication orientation of media socialization research and emphasizes the dominant position of media in children's socialization.It also ignores other socialization agents' impacts on children's socialization.Second,the study of quasi-socialization was formed.This kind of research adheres to the characteristics of traditional socialization research.Although it emphasizes the promotion of the influence of media socialization,it only uses the media as a substitute for other socialization agents.At the same time,it inherits the static and isolated view of the traditional socialization agents study.This study attempts to propose the basic framework of preschoolers' media socialization study.On the basis of above-mentioned two types of research traditions,this research tries to compensate for the weakness of theses research traditions: First,In order to avoid the tendency of the media-centralism,we should not only explore the connection between media and children's socialization but also emphasize the interaction between media,children and outside world.Second,in light of the mushroom growth of various media,the stereotyped role positioning of different types of socialization agents in traditional socialization research are dispelled,emphasizing the static and isolated view of the socialization agents analysis are broken and trying to explore the relevance of each agent.Corresponding to the study of media socialization,it emphasizes the interaction between media and other types of influence which shapes the relationship between media and children's socialization.Based on this,this study believes that children's media socialization should emphasize the integration of communication and traditionalsocialization research,and explore the connection between media and children's socialization from the perspective of communication.With the help of current socialization research,the influence of interaction between the media and other socialized agents on the relationship between the media and children's socialization is examined.According to the basic frame of the above-mentioned preschool children's media socialization research and the media effects,this study chooses preschoolers(N=683)in the Nanjing area and uses the questionnaire survey method to explore the relationship between the preschoolers' screen media exposure and their prosocial and aggressive behaviors.Based on this,it explores the screen media usage habits and preference caused by differences in gender,region,socioeconomic status,and the structure of the family.The study also explored the impact of screen media exposure,screen media content contact on children's prosocial and aggressive behavior.Based on the findings of the survey,this study selected television,the most commonly used screen media for respondents,as the representative analysis of the Media environment.Through content analysis(total 7564 minutes),the formal characteristics and the content characteristic of CCTV Children's Channel,Golden Eagle Cartoon TV,and Kacool Animation TV were discovered during the prime time of children's viewing.In terms of form characteristics,cartoons occupy a large proportion,and children's variety shows have become the basic programs of the three types of children's channels.Compared with the other two provincial satellite TVs,CCTV Children's Channel presents features of Diversification and Era characteristics.In terms of content characteristics,as a groundbreaking study,it found that the three types of children's channels showed an average of 10.8 times prosocial behaviors and 6.0 times aggressive behavior per hour.The CCTV Children's Channel has the most prosocial behaviors,with an average of 13.8 times per hour.The Golden Eagle Cartoon Satellite has the least number of aggressive actions,averaging 4.8 times per hour.In terms of the characteristics of prosocial behavior,the researcher summarizes the general characteristics of this behavior in children's channel.We also interpret the malposition of gender roles.In terms of the features of aggressive behavior,prosocial aggression has become an important part,and the majority of perpetrators are good people constitute a significant discovery of research.This study attempts to expand the communication orientation of preschool children's media socialization in the core field of preschool children's socialization-family.By combining quantitative and qualitative methods,this study explores the interaction betweenscreen media and family.This study summarizes the structural and relationship characteristics of home screen media of preschoolers and finds the causal relationship between these two characteristics and children's screen media exposure.This article also interviewed parents and teachers through individual interviews and focused interviews to further explain the influence of the interaction of screen media and other social communications on children's prosocial and aggressive behavior.The study found that the screen media in the parent-child relationship constructs the role of “babysitter” and“experiential meditation,” and is embedded in the construction of screen media and children's relationships.Parents play the role of “gatekeeper” and “model.” By examining the interaction between screen media and schools,this study explores the impact of screen media embedded in school structures and peer structures on the socialization of children's behavior.This study also reviews the research process of the preschoolers' media socialization,emphasizing its facets of communication and socialization research.Given the problems existing in the process of socialization of prosocial and aggression of preschool children,relevant suggestions for various influencing factors in media socialization are put forward.This study believes that the construction of prosocial media should be a development trend.The co-socialization of parents and children must also be addressed.The co-culture of preschoolers' media literacy should also become a new trend.
